Additional Source Reports that ‘Catching Fire’ is Moving to Atlanta
The reports by Russ Bowen that production for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘ are headed out of North Carolina have been repeated by another major news source. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is the second to claim that the soundstage is being relocated to the Atlanta area.
“The Hunger Games” sequel will film in the Atlanta area this summer through winter, according to a well-placed source with direct knowledge of the project.
“Catching Fire,” the second of the Hunger Games trilogy, will film July through December in metro Atlanta and beyond, our source says.
The first “Hunger Games” movie, which set the box office afire like Katniss’ flaming chariot, was filmed in North Carolina. Members of the cast visited Atlanta just prior to the movie’s much anticipated release.
With the change of scenery and director, a change of location isn’t terribly surprising. But it sure would be nice if The Seam and The Hob were to remain in North Carolina. Lionsgate has made no official announcement of relocation yet, so we will have to wait to see.

Do you guys know where in Atlanta?
I come from there, and I will be there in July, so it would be cool to see the shooting area!
do you know how lucky you are! damn i would kill to be in your position
As long as ‘the exotic location’ is in Hawaii, the Seam could be fairly transportable. Looking forward to seeing Victor’s Village.
i cant wait to see catching fire . (its my favorite book in the trilogy)
I live around there so I am totally going to audition!!!!
So do I! Can you audition? Like, to be a capitol person or something?
I say they film the district 12 scenes in North Carolina and Capitol and Arena scenes in Atlanta. Unless of course they fiind a location in Atlanta extremely similar to the origional seam.
i dont see that this is a big deal because the look of districts change in the last 2 books anyway so its all cool!!!!!!!!!!
