Alexander Ludwig Wants to Become a Part of The Divergent Series
Since playing Cato in The Hunger Games Alexander Ludwig has been looking for new roles in Hollywood. He just so happened to pick the brilliant YA series ’Divergent‘ written by Veronica Roth. If you haven’t read the first 2 books in the 3 book series you totally should they are amazing.
If you have read the books “Divergent” and “Insurgent” could you see Alexander playing Tobias “Four” Eaton? Why or Why not? Let us know in the comments below. “Divergent” starts production in March 2013 and will release March 21st, 2014.

He is simply perfect! It really sucks that he doesn’t get to be in Catching Fire and Mockingjay part 1 and 2 but this makes a little up for it though.
I haven’t finished Insurgent yet, but so far the books are great, it’s just taking me some time since I’m not really that good in English and they are not out in my language yet..
OHMYJOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my bestie just gave me the 1st book to read a few days ago and loved it !!!! obv not as gd as the hunger games but really gd read and never even thought of xander being four :0 but think he would be really gd as him or even peter !!!! omj cant wait to tell her !!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but I can’t see Xander as Four. I could seem him playing another character, like Edward or Drew ou even Peter, but not Four…

I love Divergent, I was soo happy when Shailene Woodley was announced as Tris, but I don’t think Alexander would be a good Four, More an Edward.
I still think Max Irons would be an awesome Four/Tobias.
I love Divergent!!!!! I just finished the 2nd book, insurgent, yesterday!!!!!!!!! He would be pretty good for Four/Tobias. He may have to dye his hair and wear contacts though… This movie, I hope, will be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can’t tell, I’m extremely excited.

I think Alex was an amazing Cato lived up to all the expectations but I just can’t picture him as Four. Maybe as another character? It would be awesome to see his in the series but not a as Four. But if he is chosen I’m sure he’ll be an amazing actor though he doesn’t look the part.
Okay, I usually am not one to play the race card, but while I wouldn’t call myself a Divergent fan, I understand that Four is specified by the author to be a mixed-race character who isn’t conventionally handsome, NOT a blonde Caucasian male-model type. So casting Xander would be worse than just casting someone who doesn’t look the part; it would actually be a classic case of whitewashing or “racebending” (from the Last Airbender cast), having white actors play characters who are specified to NOT be white. So I REALLY hope this doesn’t happen.
BTW, the reason I didn’t think this about the casting for Katniss and Gale because Suzanne Collins stated they weren’t meant to be “mixed-race” the way modern Americans would see it; the only characters she specified a race for was that Rue and Thresh are African-American.
ah so that’s why different actors’ names have popped up in the fancasting list. haven’t finished the book yet but I now understand why some famous names were shouted around (due to the mixed-race/non-conventional handsome look). but if Alex is really looking for a role that’s just for him, I suggest Heather Anastasiu’s debut YA novel (I think its called “Glitch”). In her official blog, the author wrote that Alex is her first choice to play one of the 3 main characters. If that’s not a glowing recommendation, I don’t know what is!
I agree fully with you. While I also hate the race card it is true that four is not anything of the looks of zander. Plus in a lot of movies that zander is in he seems to be better at the bad guy.

I love Divergent but i think he would make a lot better Peter. When reading the book i always pictured him as Peter and Jack Quaid as Edward.
i think he would make a better edward than a tobias/four… but still…
How about no….. I’m sorry bit Zander doesn’t seem to fit my description of tobias and wasn’t he already in a big franchise? {hunger games} he seems more like a Peter..
