Catching Fire Character Portrait – Johanna Mason
Definitely a Catching Fire Character Portrait we’ve been waiting for - Johanna Mason, the victor from District 7. She’s one of the most important characters in Catching Fire with Katniss begrudgingly teaming up with her; a partnership that’s never easy.
Click on the image above to check it out in its super hi-res glory (massive). I love the new direction they seem to be taking with Catching Fire. Jena Malone looks incredible as Johanna and if you look at the detail in the picture you can see that as pretty as her dress appears, the structure of it is quite severe, almost industrial. The world of Panem seems a little more dark and grown up.

Wow! The hi-res is awesome. There are some rather grim details, like the bracelet of nails with the points towards her vulnerable wrists, and the rivets in the bodice. Agree on the nonchalant way she’s holding the rose and the barely concealed anger — one very tough character (at least on the outside).
How come the Katniss pix is not high res? Also, do you think they’ll leave Peeta til last?
All in all, I’m loving these new portrait teasers — very creative Lionsgate!

wow! terribly ugly dress!! but in a way it suits her and you can tell shes a feisty character
In a way her dress looks like it’s from her district, very lumber-y. The portion extending over her neck looks like little pieces of cork board overlapped and nailed together. I’m thinking interview gowns.
Also Beetee is dressed in a circuit board looking material, and katniss looks like shes in her mockjay gown.
