Catching Fire Location - The Beach - Clayton County International Park

One of the tumblr blogs devoted to Catching Fire updates has recently posted an update saying:

The clock at the Cornucopia really spins!

Interested, of course, to find out where they got that exciting information, I dug up tweets from the always reliable Russ Bowen, who has been giving us updates on the Catching Fire set. Here are just a few:

The lake he is referring to is the one at the Beach in Clayton County International Park, the location where they are shooting the Cornucopia scene. Looks like they are putting warm water in so our tributes can swim in comfort, which they will be forced to do since the Cornucopia clock will really spin!

It also seems that our suspicions were correct about the set at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and that it will indeed be used for the Tribute Parade!

Additionally, the Marriott Marquis, where we saw photos on the roof, will be where our tributes are housed in the Capitol. And our beloved District 12, which we got a slight glimpse of, is being shot at a local Georgia Goat Farm.

It appears that Francis Lawrence (no relationship to Jennifer) has more money than I thought if he is going to construct a movable table in the middle of the lake at “the beach”. I am certainly eager to see the effect during the movie.

you DO realise how much money the movie AND the DVD made? heck, they’ve already frained the water at the lake and refilled with warmed water. what’s a spinning contraption compared to that?

  2. Kindra says:

This book was my favorite. If they can pull this off it will be amazing!

  3. Taylor says:

The clock that spins, is that when they get in the fight like in the middle of the games, then everyone gets thrown off?

  4. District 3 says:

Where is the jungle? Or will it appear out of nowhere on the jungle hour?
Can’t wait to see the movie!
