  1. Hunger Games Fan says:

    Solution to closure problems:
    1. Make ‘Hunger Games’ same book, 73rd annual event.
    2. Add another book showing the victory tour in depth and have the 74th hunger games where katniss mentors a girl
    3. “Catching Fire”
    4. Mockingjay
    5. Add another book to show what has happened after the rebellion and how the country has progressed as a whole, maybe honoring those who died and elaborating on katniss’ life after the rebellion

    i found finnick’s death unnecessary…

Seriously, I understand the statements that Collins is trying to make, but what an unsatisfying ending. Where was the climax? The entire book is leading up to Katniss facing President Snow and Peeta being redeemed for his torture and finding himself again, and we really didn’t get either. Katniss leads her gang underground and gets them all killed for her revenge mission/ finally becoming the Mockingjay that ends the Capita’s reign- and she doesn’t really have anything to do with the end of the war OR President Snow’s death. She had no impact whatsoever on Snow’s capture or the rebellion’s victory after her last appearance/Promos. I was waiting for her to triumph, and instead she floundered. Collins didn’t do the end of Peeta or Gale’s story any justice either, it was such a disappointment to not see either of them have anything to do in the end (before the last chapter). This was even worse than the anticlimactic ending of Breaking Dawn.
That being said, I did like Katniss coming back to life once she saw Peeta planting the Primroses and deciding that he was the once she needed in order to survive. But I wanted to know what they named the kids?!!!
