***Fan Question*** Best Kiss Must Be “Powerful”
As we reported earlier, The Hunger Games is up for 9 MTV Movie Awards! One of those categories is the famous Best Kiss nomination. This year Katniss and Peeta are up for their kiss in the arena cave. Their first kiss was one of the most anticipated scenes in the whole film. I remember seeing everyone in the theater holding their breath as Katniss helped Peeta stay alive in that cave. They were all waiting for that kiss. And it was definitely worth the wait.
Robin Thicke, Exhale singer says,
“The kiss is the moment when the strings come in, and all of the danger and the anger and the frustration and the loss — the kiss becomes redemption. It takes you out of purgatory and into the gates of heaven. A kiss has to be that powerful, in my opinion.”
So, your fan question is:
Do you think Peeta and Katniss’ kiss was powerful? Was it exactly what you wanted to see? Wanted to feel?
Tell us Why or Why not in the comments below. Also don’t forget to VOTE for The Hunger Games now through 1 June at MovieAwards.MTV.com
The Awards air LIVE on Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET.

YES IT WAS POWERFUL! They better win, because if they don’t I’ll cry.
No, it was not. It was soft and fleeting and it wasn’t meant to be powerful. I didn’t feel it at all.
There was a moment later on, again in the cave, that carried a real emotion. No kissing, although it felt much deeper…
Agree. Lets save the award for Catching Fire, sure they will earn it!
to really make catching fire good, i want to see katniss break down and peeta comfort her. WHY DID THAT NOT HAPPEN IN THE BOOK THAT MAKES ME SO MAD!!! I bet that would give the power and emotion everybodys looking for, right?
the kiss was not powerful at all!!! and it mad me sooo angree how in the book they kiss a hundred times and then in the movie they only kiss twice and the 1st wasnt even a kiss it was on the cheek!!!
i know! i can’t believe gary ross did that.
I think that they might have won if they put a kiss where they were putting thet medicine on oneanother. Her smile seemed genuine like she was hoping for a kiss that never happened.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m going to hand that honor to Catching Fire kisses. They were way more heartfelt and true.
i feel it should have been more, i expected something longer and stronger
Jen is hot. Josh is hot. The kiss was not.
Haha yupp!!
i like it. I AGREE WITH THIS PERSON.
I believe that the kiss was powerful because as what it said, it was worth the wait. All of those struggles, the story concept was very emotional and really expressive of what you need to do if your in the limit. Actually, the movie shouldve have more kissing scenes because of the book.. (sorry, but I thought that if they put the kissing scenes that I said in the book, then that kiss in the cave would stand out and be more powerful!) But still, the kiss was powerful than the rest that i saw. And I agree with Rachel Hutcherson…
It was kinda just a normal kiss cuz they kiss a lot in the book when they r in the cave so I wish they would hav done that one where katniss felt something special inside but that didn’t happen so the kiss was ok
Well the kiss was good but not powerful enough to win an award.
But i have to admit they did a good job but the kiss
needed that extra spark. Like in the book she felt something more
I expected a little more like in the book, but it was a soft, innocent kiss and it was all right. I expect a more powerful kiss in Catching Fire, but in the meantime, let’s keep voting!!!
I thought the kiss was really good. who knows what Peeta’s history is but it was Katniss’s first kiss, so when people say it seemed a bit awkward (which i didn’t see at all!) it still fitted with the story cause Katniss was nervous/excited. and Peeta has been waiting for that moment forever! so i think it was super special and very powerful.
I think the kiss was ok. I mean I were expecting it to be more like passioned and powerful, (and longer), but I still loved it and I hope they’ll win
<3
The kiss wasn’t very powerful. I didn’t feel a leap of joy like i did with the book (it was there, but not as much as i had hoped). They just better make up for it in Catching Fire.
yup
I have to agree with the Harvard spoof. KantKiss NeverClean.
However, I saw an interview of Jennifer’s Mother who indicated that she is NOT on board for her daughter doing PDA (public displays of affection) on screen, nor any type of nudity. Should be interesting to see where Jennifer’s career goes with that approach.
It was perfect for the movie, but award winning? Not really.. But i do expect and award winning kiss out of the Catching Fire beach Scene!!!! ( AND I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT GET NOMINATED FOR THE GALE AND KATNISS KISS IN MOCKINGJAY……)< for that one i hope they wouldnt win. No offense
I agree with Autumn! The kiss was perfect for the movie …but i dont think it really is powerful in the sense they are looking for. but, fingers crossed anyway!!!!
i think the kiss wasnt powerful but it did bring up some excitement between Peeta and Katniss, also Peeta said during the interview he had a crush on one girl forever, so i doubt he kissed other girls…(THGirl)
I think the kiss was good. Think about it, it was the first time Katniss EVER kissed anyone, then it is logic that it aint powerful but soft instead <3
i think yes the cave was good but mabey this gquestion will be better answerd from catching fire with the snow and the beach and all
i dont think the kiss was as powerfull as it said it was ment to be in the book but i do hope that there will be a more powerfull kiss in catching fire because otherwise they got usall happy that this amazing kiss would coe and there was not much really there
the kiss was great and perfect, jen is a very lucky girl !
i agree
i think it was a powerful kiss because i took away the fear in the games Peeta and Katniss are in and i think it gives some clicking in there but is shows more in CATCHING FIRE
