I think the song “Girl on Fire” by Arshad. It is a really good song that summarizes the whole book. The song is sang from Peeta’s point of view and is just amazing.
Let It Burn by Red since it fortells Catching Fire
gentle soul by devendra banhart
long live by taylor swift
YESSSSSS!
YESSSSSS!
The song VILLAGES by ALPINE
Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift Ft. The Civil Wars because it a sweet song but still has an eerie chill to it. Just like The Hunger Games.
The Path by Courtney Jones
Iridescent by Linkin Park
It basically sums up the whole first movie. I love it.
SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW by GOTYE
I have to agree with Seafeather’s comment, after seeing that fan film with Katniss and Rue – Iridescent by Linkin Park would be the perfect choice! awesome lyrics and good beat.
The Game by Alyssa Reid
Little Wonders by Rob Thomas
love story by talyor swift
Irridescent by Lincoln Park
Jealous of the Angels by Jenn Bostic
Enchanted by Taylor Swift
titanium david guetta feat. sia becuase at the end where cato is being chased by the muuts, katniss tries to shoot him but he doesnt fall because of his sheild, like titanium. and it describes katnisses struggle with the capitol, and the tune just sounds as if should be in the hunger games.
time of dying by three days grace
The Game by Alyssa Reid, it tells the Hunger Games PERFECTLY!!!!!!!
Either Iridescent by Linkin Park or (In Peeta’s POV) My Happy Ending by Avril Lavigne!!!
All Fall Down by One Republic
Hysteria by Muse
All about your heart by Mindy Gledhill
Just my ideas, not too sure. xD there’s so many!!
Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars Its so soft and a song that i think would end the song perfectly i can just picture it 8^)
I know every one is going to think it’s so typical, because it’s all popular, but i think it goes with the movie. The song We Are Young by Fun should be played. I f you think about the lyrics it goes perfectly with the movie.”Tonight, we are young.” This is about young people going into the games. ” So lets set the world on fire, we can burn brighter, than the sun.” Fire is very symbolized in the books and movie, and sounds like something katniss would say. Might not be the best choice, but worth a shoy
Help I’m Alive by Metric……
What Doesn’t Kill You (Kelly Clarkson)- Katniss’s point-of-view
It Will Rain (Bruno Mars)- Peeta’s point-of-view
Someone Like You (Adele)- Gale’s point-of-view
I thought I would put 3 different songs because the 3 main characters have such different feelings that it would be hard to pick a song to describe all of them or pick 1 to use so I picked 3 songs that I thought were a good explanation for their feelings for most or all of the book (and soon to be movie!).
I would play “This is Home” By Switchfoot
Only if for a Night by Florence + the Machine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkJK2KVFsi0
Set Fire to the Rain
By: ADELE
Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy
We found love -Rihanna
Glad you came – the wanted
down – jay sean
love story – taylor swift
Boy with a coin – Iron and Wine
It’s going to get worse before it gets better – Piebald, Vol. III
Marching On by One Republic
Violet Hill by Coldplay
gravity by sara bareilles
For some reason that I’m finding really hard to put into words, this song just fits. Just listen to it it’s a really beautiful song
I’m hungry for some Hunger Games: OMG. GREAT SELECTION! I LOVE COLDPLAY!
Ours by Taylor Swift. Yes it faster an not slow and foreboding like the rest but I really think it tells the story of how Peeta and Katniss’ love will be their and no one can take that from them.
I think the song Set Fire to the Rain by Adele should be played because I think that it’s a good view of Peeta’s perspective, seeing as he was crushed and heartbroken at the end of the book, discovering that Katniss — his one true love — was acting the entire time. Everything she said, she did:
“It was all for the Games, how you acted.”
Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain portrays a broken heart and how she misses the one she loves, and I think that relates to how Peeta was feeling at the end of The Hunger Games
FEED THE MACHINE by RED. I think it describes the desensitivity of the Capitol viewers and the [possible] angry feelings of the tributes.
i believe that for the end credits of the hunger games the song ”ZOMBIE” BY THE CRANBERRIES” is a relatable, exciting, and just a nice song to be played because this song is not modern nowadays kind of music that teens like to listen to but just classic and to the point that i think relates to the hunger games a ton, with all the fighting in the arena to just being in a setting such as the world of the hunger games.
i think that this songs fits because well its a lil loud( its kind of like rock) and well its as if its saying ”even though the movie is over the story continues…” of the hunger games which i think will leave the watchers viewers whatever anticipate the next movie which this song can also relate to catching fire.
In this song when it says ” another head hangs lowly child is slowly taken and the violence causes silence” it mean the hunger games, the cruelty of the games and how it affects kids and causes viollence. Also when it says ” in your head in your head they are fightin with their tanks and their bombs” it relates to the games and how they ( the people) fight until death in the games not literally with tanks and bombs but within themselves and just how people fight for themselves for a better well being of their lives. Lastly, when the song says the famous ”in your head in your head Zombie” for me it symbolizes the Capitol and how they are there and coming for them, all people, with their games and injustice just to create choas.
i interpreted this how i believe it relates to the hunger games, and for me it ddoes a lot. Sorry for writting so much..i had to explain…
In Our Bedroom After the War by Stars! I feel like that recurring line “but at least the war is over” really kinda sums up everyone’s feelings on the train ride home. My favorite line from the song for the hunger games? “All the living are dead, and the dead are all living. The war is over, and we are beginning.” I feel like it shows how broken Katniss and Peeta are after the games (all the living are dead) and how people like Rue and Thresh will always live on in their hearts (and the dead are all living). The war is over and we are beginning: Katniss and Peeta finally have hope for the well-being of their families. They made it through the bloody hunger games!!
Set Fire To The Rain By Adele because It’s taking about I’m gonna get you with fire. So that really sums up Katniss and The Capitol. It also is kinda Katniss and Peeta. It works for multiple aspects of the Hunger Games series.
Weight of the World by Framing Hanley
Cold War by Janelle Monae- it is about fighting for freedom and surviving.
Also, it sort of sets the movie up for Catching Fire- the war is not yet over.
Live to Win by Paul Stanley
“Sail” or “Soul Wars” By AWOLNATION
Homecoming by Green Day. <3
Poprocks and Coke by Green Day
Without You by Usher because it foretells the story of Katniss and Peeta’s love and how they would give up their lives for each other. The first lines of the song are “I can’t win, I can’t reign. I will never win this game, without you.” These lines tell how Peeta and Katniss feel about each other and their lives in the games. Another line is “I can’t take one more sleepless night, without you.” This line represents their feelings on the train and in Catching Fire.
I think this is the perfect song for it because it tells us about how Katniss and Peeta feel not only about each other, but about their lives.
It’s like it was made for The Hunger Games.
I would wont the Song Fly by Nicki Minaj Ft. Rihanna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n71KUiWn1I
I think this bit of the song fits soooooo Well for Katniss’s character!
I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive
I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise
To fly
To fly
Me, me, me against them
Me against enemies, me against friends
Somehow they both seem to become one
A sea full of sharks and they all smell blood
I think its perfect. Some bits dont fit but most of the song does
I think “After the Storm” by Mumford and Sons would be perfect because it talks about moving on after total destruction, even if that moving on is death. It’s a song full of fear and hope at the same time. There’s a beautiful line about “grace in your heart and flowers in your hair” which reminds me so much of Rue.
Nara by E.S. posethemus
TOKIO HOTEL – FORGOTTEN CHILDREN
I think this song just screams The Hunger Games. It’s like the song was written for all the children suffering in the districts. Thrown aside by the Capitol, left to survive with barely nothing until they are called upon to be murdered for entertainment.
They’ve been forgotten by the people of the Capitol who take everything they have for granted, while the districts are left to scraps. All the children who are forced to attend the reaping have the right to live normal lives just as those children in the Capitol.
Most importantly, this song also speaks of the harsh realities of life in the same way that the Hunger Games addresses several real life issues. Starvation is a serious issue today.
In conclusion, playing this song immediately after the movie, during the credits, would make the audience continue their though process of the necessary changes we need to make in our lives, or we will one day have our own Hunger Games!
It is the perfect song for the perfect story.
Far Away – Nickelback
Just the lyrics telling he loves someone but the person is far away. Just like Peeta and Katniss, he loves her and has loved her all along but she never knew. So this song is basically Peeta’s story. Think of the song while Katniss is taking care of Peeta and his hurt leg.
here’s the song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB6Dp6-mm6g&feature=related
Breaking Benjamin-Dance with the Devil !!!
There is no other song that fits The Hunger games more!!
Look at the very first sentence:
“Here I stand, helpless and left for dead”
We are young by Fun
“Hunger Games” winterspringspro. Parody of “I Wanna Go” by Brittany Spears. The song talks about Peeta and Gale fighting over Katniss. youtube site:

LOVE THIS SONG!!
I spent quite awhile thinking of this one! I can think of many songs that fit different parts of the story, but then I had to take awhile to consider the mood I want to feel at the very end. I actually really enjoy the feeling I got from imagining Safe and Sound playing during the credits, and then felt that Avril Lavigne’s Innocence has a similar feeling that I like. It is encouraging, while acknowledging all of the hardships faced in the Hunger Games, but it’s like a timeout until Catching Fire, that there’s a brief moment that things are okay, the fight is over. Of course we know better, but I hope to have a feeling of calmness as I have to wait for the next film!
I also couldn’t help but also think of Lenny Kravitz’s Stand as well because I couldn’t help but smile at thinking of Cinna singing for Katniss to encourage her!
Give me love by Ed Sheeran, I actually think that would fit in beautifully for the pg366-7 scene in Mockingjay with Peeta and Katniss. If you listen to it and close your eyes the intro just makes you smile especially when partnered with the scene. Check it out, I’m personally admire Ed Sheeran he has a soothing gentle voice which also makes you thing about Peeta in a way…. But as I was saying it would also be nice for the credits of the Hunger Games.
I think that “This is War” by 30 Seconds to Mars would be a great choice. When the lyrics say “To the soldier, the civillian, The martyr, the victim” They could show screen shots or clips of Gale, Prim, Cinna, and Rue, in that order. Later in the lyrics it says, “To the leader, the pariah, the victor, the messiah.” Again scree shots or clips of President Snow, Seneca Crane,Peeta and Katniss, in that order. There are some other places in the song for Effie, Haymitch and Portia. The song would need some rearrangement but I do think the song works. ****SPOILER**** the games are a precursor to war and I think that a more literal hint towards that would be perfect.
Hmmmm… I’m going to have to say Goodbye by Air Supply.
I think “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele would be a great song to play.
Enchanted- Taylor Swift
Stronger by Kelly Clarkson- this song reminds me of Katniss’ personality
Cough Syrup by Young the Giant- when the lyrics say – Life is too short to even are at all. Im losing my mind losing my mind losing my control. This part reminds me of how Katniss never gives up and keeps on living life to the fullest. (I LOVE this song!!)
Not Over You by Gavin DrGraw- this reminds me of Peeta’s unconditional love for Katniss.
Cough Syrup by Young the Giant
My favorite part in the song is this phrase “Lifes too short to even care at all. Im losing my mind losing my mind losing control”
This song reminds me of how she keeps on living life to the fullest and her strong personality. Also this represents how she never knew what she was doing to the capitol and is just soo confused but never gives up.
I think they should play without you by usher and david guetta. It talks about not wanting to win the game without that special person. It would express katniss feelings for peeta. Even though she doesn’t admit she loves peeta the reader can tell it was all real. I think her struggle admitting her feelings and accepting that she really doesn’t want to be without peeta is really the emotional backbone and sweetest part of the book and the part readers love most. So they should difentially play without you to sum up the love story and give the dedicated readers who read the whole series a hint of the romance to come.
The Decemberists- This Is Why We Fight
or
Paramore- Let The Flames Begin
Shiver by Shawn Desman
or
Battlefield by Jordan Sparks
“Something Heavenly” by Sanctus Real
In my opinion, I believe that when there are no words to the introductary song, it only makes the feel of the movie even more epic, that is why I would have to go with an original song composed by (apperantly) RaeofRandomness, a user in you tube. The song is titled “The Hunger Games Main Theme- An Original Song”, and in case you are interested, here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWKBwHKtc7U.
May the Odds be Ever in Your Favor
Y que la Suerte este Siempre de Vuestra Parte
“Numb” and “In the End”- Linkin Park
- These songs are about getting your heart broken and getting beaten down by the people around you. It’s about being opressed, but not having the strength to stand up for yourself and break free.
“Let the Flames Begin”- Paramore
-This song reminds me of the Hunger Games because it’s about feeling so miserable and full of despair that you just want to give up. But something is telling you to hold on, search for something to hang onto, and don’t lose hope and faith. Keep your head up , don’t give up, and keep standing up for what you believe in no matter how bad things get.
“Cough Syrup”- Young the Giant
- This song is about not caring too much about what others think. Times will be hard sometimes, but you just have to hold onto hope and believe that things will get better.
Sweet thing,
On call- kol
By your side – sade
This is such a difficult question to answer. In my opinion… maybe…
Coldplay – The Scientist

Something Beautiful by NEEDTOBERATHE
Something Beautiful by NEEDTOBREATHE
The Song I would like to hear play would be the song by Alicia Keys. It’s called No One. I like it because it’s like Peeta saying no one can get in the way of how he feels for Katniss. Another one would be by Winterspringpro! It’s called Britney Spears I wanna Go Hunger games parody!
Ordinary Girl by Miley Cyrus
Good Girl Gone Bad by Rihanna
que hago yo by ha-ash
When I was reading the books I had Goo Goo Dolls Iris on repeat. It just echos alot of lines from the books, so I think I would be a great choice.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger – kelly clarkson
My Chemical Romance – Kill All Your Friends
My Chemical Romance – The Only Hope For Me Is You
the only exception by paramore
Iridescent by Linkin Park
tommorow will be kinder.
i think Holocene by bon iver because it’s qiet and soft at the begining but towards the end it gets more louder and intense, just like the hunger games. it would be a perfect song knowing that there will be more….
SO MANY GOOD SONGS@
Definetly fire to the rein by ADELE. Every time I hear it I think of the hunger games
