***Fan Question*** Straight to the Point
Ladies and Gentlemen it is that time again! Time for your Fan Question of the Week!
This week I will spare you on reading an introduction story or making you visualize anything. (Lucky You) The question will be straight to the point..Here it goes:
“What scene/scenes, in your opinion, would new director Francis Lawrence HAVE to add in to make Catching Fire perfect for you?”
Summer-I am hoping to see the first real Johanna and Katniss interaction(arena)…or maybe how they play Peeta talking to the naked Johanna in the elevator. I think they could make that pretty funny. I am also hoping to see more district uprisings and Gale’s lashing(Sorry Audrey and Jacqui)

i think if they make it as closely to the book as possible then it will be perfect! but if i had to have a top five scenes i would want
1- Katniss and Peeta on the beach in the arena.
2- Finnik giveing Peeta CPR when he runs into the force feild.
3- Katniss, Peeta, and Hamitch defending Gale when he gets whipped.
4- Peeta comforting Katniss when she has nightmares on the train.
5- Katniss and Peeta’s picnik on the roof of the training center.

I think everything Carson and Elizabeth said. I would lime to though : Show the clips of the Videos they watch to learn about their opponents. Peeta and Katniss on the beach where we all know though she doesn’t want to admit it that moment when we all know she loves Peeta….
i totally think that they should have all of what u said carson j but they also should have the part about when peeta and katniss have a pikonik and in the qq when peeta gives katniss the pearl as her “last gift” but i totally agree on peetas interview!!!

I want to see some of the connection between the tributes.
In order for catching fire to be perfect for me francis needs to show the bonnie and twill scene its a very important scene. It shows the start of the rebellion. It is the beginning of the mockingjay and what katniss represents to all the other district and how big of an impact her stunt with berries made on the rest of panem even though she dosent even no wether or not she pulled the berries out because of love for peeta or a chance to show the capitol according to peeta to show that they are more than just a piece in the games.
that is probaly the most important scene to me but i will list a few others that i think are pretty important to.
1. Cinna turning katniss’ wedding gown into a mockingjay costume
2. The victors holding hands during the interviews
3. Johanna saying she has no one left she loves (makes my heart hurt)
4. Johanna yelling out that the capitol wouldnt want a rebellion in the middle of the arena.

i would also like too see that Wiress figure out the arena and tries too tell but dont say anything else but tic tac!

In order for the audience to understand a little bit better what the message of the story his, Gale’s Whipping is essential, IMHO. That one and the district 11 ENTIRE scene, focusing on the peacekeepers reaction to Rue’s melody.
The scene where the tributes hold their hands/arms in Caesar Flickerman’s Show is also very important, though I’m not exacly sure how they’re going to do that, since in the movie the tributes are in the backstage waiting to be called and not somewhere the audience can see. Maybe they change that becase of the Quarter Quell, but I don’t honestly know what they are going to do.
These are what I think are the most important scenes. After that, there is the scene that I am anticipating the most: President Snow conversation with Katniss. If that scene is well executed, I’ll know for sure the rest of the film will be very good :p… Go Francis Lawrence.

There isnt much that can be left out really… In order of importance to mr personally:
-Katniss & Peeta’s scene on the beach
-Finnick ‘You wanna sugar cube?’
-Katniss showing her feelings for Gale after the whipping
-Katniss finding out about the Quater Quell
-Katniss and Peeta helping each other at nights + the train + roof
I can’t wait to see the beach scene. It was such an important factor between Katniss and Peeta. All the joking scenes with Finnick and Peeta would be amazing!
It will be sad, but the scene with Cinna getting taken away will be important, but heartbreaking. But overall, I can’t wait to see the whole entire movie and I hope they keep all the important scenes that made me love the book.
Deff Cinna being taken away it just wont be complete with out that. Because for the people that won’t read the books; in MockingJay they will be confused about Cinna not knowing he got beaten to death…
The things I really want to see (I havent read the book in a while):

-Peeta and Katniss’s Roof times and helping
-The Victory tour most deff and expecially Cinna turning Katniss into the MockingJay thats the best and most breathtaking
-And when Peeta gives Katniss the Pearl. I htink thats like ADORABLE and it has to be in there for MockingJay just like the ending when Gales says theres no more District 12(:

They can’t have cutted Mags out! She is really important, I mean they can’t cutt out a tribute!
Mags will be in the movie, she’s talking about how Madge, the Mayor’s daughter, was cut out in the first movie.
Yeah, I think that they’ll be cut too. Really I think that they will find a way to give the same information in a different manor.
I want the scene where she come in the house and the peace keepers are there telling her about the fence and how she gets over the fence, and of coarse the victory tour outfits!!!

Hey guys! I agree with all the amazing scenes u have already metioned so I’ll just add two things.
I’d like to see Peeta, Haymitch and Katniis training for the Quarter Quell and my personal favorite when Katniss and Peeta are working on her family book of plants and Katniss discoveres she has an obsession with Peeta’s eyelashes..I loved that part when I read it
The beach scene/kiss plus all of Katniss’s emotional scenes to build the feelings betwwen the two of them. Help us with Finnicks background and also the mouth to mouth.. omg that was a crack up,:) Umm.. lets see, i found the elevator scene funny but please show like the outfit hitting the ground(No nudity in that scene please!)and when the victory tour happens, make district 11 visit longer and the rest show bits and pieces. Thanks!!
I’m really looking forward to every line of Katniss’ speech while in district 11. That always blew my mind. Also, which happens to be my favorite part, is when Katniss and Peeta come out in their burning-coal chariot outfits and look straight ahead. It really shows the mood of the quell and their inner defiance and strength.

I think it’s a no-brainer: of course that scene will be in the movies, it’s preety much essential, or else that entire part of the movie would have no emotion. It’s Super Important, and maybe part of what brings the tributes together.
AND when KAtniss gets drunk with haymitch!
AND when katniss sleeps in peetas arms
And when Johanna rips off her dress
(gosh i keep forgetting these scenes)
I don’t think that there’s any way to do this and keep a PG 13 rating.
I thought about that too. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see the actress naked (I’m sure the will choose a hot actress for the part), but I don’t see them doing it in a PG-13 film. Maybe if they do it gently, but I honestly think it will get cut, ’cause its not relevant to the story.
When Katniss and Finnick are stuck in the Jabberjay section. That scene was so compelling and really showed some of Finnick’s true colors. And it expands more on how much Katniss and Prim love each other and how close they are. This might be a vital scene too, because it introduces Annie. If they’re going to put her in (WHICH THEY HAVE TOO!) this is her starting point as her character develops.

And katniss attacking haymitch for leaving peeta
I agree that all the mentioned scenes are totally essential, but there are a couple of little snippets that I really hope they show too.
OK, so they’re mostly Peeta moments, but I think it’s in Catching Fire that you really get a full appreciation of what a unique character he is (and it’s because of these scenes that I ultimately joined “Team Peeta” fully..!)
So the first is on the Victory Tour, when he gave Rue and Thresh’s families a share of their money, and the riot kicked off. Not only that part in entirety, but the scene where Katniss and Haymitch come clean about the threat from the capital afterwards. It’s then that he seems to become conscious of his role in the rebellion.
Second, when the female Morphling saves him from the Monkey-Mutts, and he holds her as she’s dying, talking to her about colours to soothe her, like Katniss singing to Rue. Sort of. Just because I thought that even though she got pretty minimal face time in the book, it was a really sad moment. Plus it’s showing the continued support the other tributes are giving the faces of the rebellion, and I think they need to show that Haymitch isn’t just a comedy drunk for the sake of being a drunk, that each victor is struggling in their own way to deal with their experiences, and the Morphlings are kinda vital to get that across.
I’d also like the prep team to be given a little more show in this film, and showing how distressed they are at the Quarter Quell. Just because.
Actually, I’d be quite pleased if they transformed the book page by page into the second film. Yeah, it’d be about 2 days long, but do I hear any HG fans complaining on that one?
The first part of what you mentioned (the District 11 scene), in my perspective, is probably one of the most important scenes, because the people who haven’t read the books really do need some help trying to understand what the Capitol e all about: control. Having a “shocking” scene in the beggining of the film may interest the audience right from the start, and I’m sure most of the people won’t leave their seats after that. The disrtrict 11 scene and Presidents Snow’s conversation will, hpefully, have that effect in the audience.
As for the morphling scene, I have a very small feeling that tells me that it may be cut, but let’s see.
As for the prep-team: I’m sure people won’t even remember them from the first movie, but I hope the director “re-introduces” the characters and let them have a bigger role, though I honestly doubt it. Sure, it is important so the audience understands that even the people in the capitol don’t like to see their victors dying in the arena all over again, but I don’t know how much of that will be presented in the film. One scene they could easily put that would probably explain it all was the servant in the train that brings hot-chocolate to Peeta and Katniss, and then Katniss/Peeta says “They feel sorry for us… Going back to the arena” (not the exact line in the book, but well).
Anyway, I hear Francis Lawrence is good with book adaptations, and since the producers are trying to bring to the Games Michael Arndt, an Academy Awarder screenwriter, I’m confident that they will make a good job. In the mean time, I’m just concerned for their tight schedule.

I want to see the Part after she gets stuck outside of the fence and when the peace keepers are at her house and they have to like joke around and stuff then peeta carries her upstairs and holds her hand while she sleeps. I LOVE that part. And all the scenes with finnick. Oh and when johanna strips in the elevator. Pretty much everything.. Im pretty sure they are keeping Bonnie and twill because they are on the casting list. Which I thought they would most likly take out..
To make it appealing for the fans of the movie, he would have to cut short the whole thing before the QQ. Because, some people might think it is boring. WE wouldn’t
Anyway, if they miss the forcefeild scene with Finnick and Peeta, the picnic and all the other stuff once they get on the train to go to the QQ.
I’m gonna be honest with you: I thought that part of the book was a little boring, too. There was some action, but too much description for my taste. However, since in the movie there is no “descritption”, they’ll be able to do it a lot more fast-paced. They will have to so the audience doesn’t get bored.
That’s exacly what I was saying 2 minutes ago: President Snow and District 11 Victory tour scene will, hopefully, leave the audience expecting more, right from the start. Those expectations will only start disappearing, hopefully, right before the Quarter Quell Anouncement, and the audience will probably get fixated again byt that. If Suzanne Collins know how to do something, is to present the right cliffhanger in the right moment. It’s up to Francis Lawrence (who I hear is good with book adaptations) to capture those moments to the big screen.

Well, in my opinion they shouldn’t leave out ANY scenes
, but I think that the most important one is where is Cinna is being taken away. It’s completely heartbreaking and I cried while reading that part, but I think Francis should make a really strong effect so that even the most tough people shed a tear.
Other than that I want all the scenes Peeta’s in!!!
I’m not sure if that particular scene is “to cry for”. It should definitely be included in the movie, though in my opinion it shoudn’t make the audience sad – it should make the audience shocked.
Just my 2 cents
Plutarch’s watch: please make it spectacular and amazing!!! I imagine the mockingjay in the middle (when not hidden) and the arrows as arrows!!! And the colour should be Meditteranean sea blue on the inside and silver metal on the outside!!!
Maybe when they’re in the Jabberjay section they could show flashes of the people that Katniss and Finnick are hearing. That way we’d get an image of Annie so people know that she’s important to Finnick (she’ll also be in the tapes and the reapings in the districts if Francis shows them)
I would have to say when Katniss meets finnick and he is all seductive like…. and yah
I totally agree that will be funny and weird but mostly funny
The victory tour is important too ( it can be a montage but don’t skip on district 11, 1, and 2!)
Peeta’s paintings of the tributes of the 74 th hunger games ( Rue,Clove, Glimmers mutt,etc)
And obviously katniss being transformed into the mockingjay!
I have doubts they will ever show Peeta’s paintings. There’s so much to tell that they may have to cut some details, and infortunately Peeta’s paintings are exacly that: details. From the first movie, I think everybody understood that he is very good with camouflage and everything related to painting, so his paintings won’t even be necessary for the audience to understand that. In fact, they will probably leave out the “talent” thing related to the tributes.

I want to see the whole 2nd Quarter Quell! You know Haymitch’s! I would love to see them put a good effort into it. It was one of my favorite parts.
I want to see the part where Finnick and Katniss wakes Peeta up together surprisingly! That is gonna be funny!!
I hope to see the scene where Peeta runs into the forcefield, then Katniss FREAKING OUT and crying….then Finnick gives Peeta cpr, and Finnick says “t must be the hormones” XD i REALLY want that scene in there if it is not in there, i will make a personal trip to thet directors house and demand he change the movie! XD

I don’t care how long the movie will be as long as they add those parts in then i think it will be a awesome movie. I know they will add the parts like the picnic and the training sesson where she spells seneca crane in berry paint.
Also i forgot the part where snow comes to talk to katniss and her mom comes in to offer cookie and tea and the cookies are decorated. Also when they make a pit stop on the train and katniss talks to haymitch.

I definitely want to see the compilation of the 50th Hunger Games. MainstayPro made one for youtube and I loved it. I would love to see one like that in the real movie.
The Mockingjay slice of the Arena when we see just how in love Finnick is with Annie… if that isn’t in there, I’ll probably go on a rampage! Also I really hope they do all the tributes holding hands.
Also the Gale being whipped scene with all three vicotrs standing up for him!
-When Katniss & Gale kiss {I’m on Team Peeta though}

I am on team peeta but i still want to see Gale and Katniss kiss too!!!!
Johanna ripping off her dress is VERY important to the book/movie seeing people naked is Katniss’s weakness. And besides if they did include that in the movie ,since so many young people want to see it, they’d probably just show Johanna from the neck up… use your common sense.

and abit of subject but they should bring in madge some how in one of the two films left we miss her ! 9the scene where katniss thinks its the peacekeepers but its madge.
