Drawing Lessons (for Lily)

And I think mia asked for some too

Here's the first page: If you can't read it, let me know and I'll type it out for you--since I don't have one now as soon as I get near a scanner I'll replace these with the scanner version.

Speech bubble: Hi Lily! I am the overly cute, unrealistic depiction of missingllama! To get you off my back, I shall give you a drawing tutorial!

1. Start off w/ a circle
2. - Face shapes (esp. jaw) are established here
- The lines going down the center are guidelines [These help you know where to place things like eyes, a nose, ears, etc.]
3. Eyes go on the center horizontal [line].
When you really trust someone, you have to be okay with not understanding some things.

4.
    - Lightly trace over jaw (lower face) shape, add hair as desired
    - Nose in middle of eyes
    - Mouth below nose (all in center vertical line, in space between eyes)
When you really trust someone, you have to be okay with not understanding some things.

Other Tips and Tricks on Faces:

    - Not all faces are the same. Experiment with different features to get the hang of them!
    - If you want to draw a face from any other angle, remember, start with the center line. From there it helps you build on if you remember those proportion tips.
    - Practice, practice, practice.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! No, really! I stink at explaining and the poop-tastic quality is hard to read.

How to Draw a Person

I know this looks pretty weird right now, but bear with me. This is just to show you how I usually start a drawing.

To make a person, anatomy and proportion are very important. If even one thing is off the whole drawing usually looks funny or wrong.

Body five "heads" tall (really head + neck)

    Shoulder to Elbow

(Elbow starts at bottom of chest)

    Elbow to finger tips

    Same length

Upper + lower legs same length

Those occasional lines you see up there are supposed to split the body up into the five "heads," which help you draw.
