Here's more but I will probably re-write this. x3 And I changed the date in the first one, for simplicity to 3065. Because Finnick competed in the 65:th Hunger games. And that was a month after so yeah.
EDIT: I just realized that wouldn't make sense because Annie would've been 19 years old when she competed. Gah... I figure something out. >_<
EDIT 2: I realized I've always been thinking of Annie as being one year younger than Finn. Problem solved!
She writes, always writes. And reads, that’s her life right now. Reading and writing.
She cooks meal for Finnick JR and her, afterwards she quickly returns to her room. Finn can take care of himself, but she will have to return to him. Right now she’s on… What do you call it? Rehab? She must move on and then someone suggested her to write a letter, it didn’t work out quit much. So now she’s writing a book, one day she will show Finn this.
Then he will understand why life will be difficult.
Finnick Odair was the only reason her heart kept beating.22 January 3060
It was a cold day in January. Everyone was tired, but people always seem to be tired in the winter. There was no will in going up early in the morning and ship out with the fishing boats. My father didn’t have to though – he sold the nets they used to drag up fish.
So I was home as usual, I had a few friends and I always appreciated their company. But this day there was no one there for me to talk with. My mum and dad was there of course, but there’s no need to count them in. Let’s make a long story short; they were not great parents.
It was midmorning and I sat at the table tying knots. I didn’t make nets yet, but I would soon.
Then there was a sudden yell and a slam. I held my breath, there was a silence for a moment but…
“How dare you say that!”
And just like that a war had begun, with two adults shooting arguments and ugly words at each other. I sighed and went from the table to our hall. I put on a pair of shoes and a jacket.
Then I went outside.
That is I, nine years old, inhaling cold air and fleeing from my parents fight. It’s not exactly a happy story. I didn’t know what they were fighting about and I didn’t want to find out either.
They fought and I walked, I could live with that.
I always took the same road and saw the same things. I passed the bakery, the clothes store, the head peacekeepers house and more. But this day, I felt like doing something different. I couldn’t really name the feeling I has inside me, but I turned right instead of left.
You will get lost! something screamed inside me.
Luckily I didn’t listen.
I reached a place I had never been at before, it was out of town. With high grass and few couples of trees. I don’t know how it happened but suddenly I found myself standing on a cliff. I watched the ocean as the waves hit the cliff I was standing on.
I noticed a beach and decided to get there, and I had almost finished climbing down when I lost my grip of the cliff. It all happened so fast I didn’t have time to register it. I suddenly found myself on the ground with pain rising in my body. I had climbed down at the side of the cliff so that’s why I didn’t land in the water.
I screamed. My back hurt! My head and my legs too. They hurt so badly.
“Help!” I screamed.
I tried to get up but I couldn’t, a force pushed me down. Tears started to run down my face.
Then I heard footsteps.
“It’s ok, I’m here now.” Someone said.
I cried loud and couldn’t dare to move. I realized someone was standing over me.
“Do you want to help you up?” a voice asked.
“Y-Yes.” I said quietly.
A hand gripped my wrist and dragged me up, that was the first time I could get a great look at him. Bronze hair and sea green eyes. A boy in my age.
“Your leg is bleeding,” he said.
I looked down; yes it was bleeding
“It hurts.” I complained.
“We should try to get you back.” He said and smiled at me, “What’s your name by the way?”
“My… My name is Annie Cresta. And you?”
“My name’s Finnick. Finnick Odair to be exact”
Finnick Odair, a name I’ll never forget.
