Wesley weakened with every breath and could barely notice the ear piercing noise that was driving away so many of the Careers. He could only twist and turn before realizing what was holding him down. Of course, Ivy was still pinned on top of him crushing every last wisp of air out of his lungs.

Suddenly the sky was clouded by blackness and the noise grew louder. It was more of a chirping really, he thought as his vision began to fail. The pain from his fight with Ivy was so intense he could hardly notice when his entire body became engulfed in feathers and razor sharp beaks and talons. Wesley did not have enough strength to fend off the bird mutts, and even if he did his wounds were to fatal to repair.
