Help! What has happened to the pearl?

I just want to know what has happened to the pearl Peeta gave Katniss during the quarter quell. Was it not always with Katniss? Or did i miss anything since it was not among the items she retrieved from/found in her study. No mention of the pearl at all. Here, I quote:

"In the study, where i had my tea with President Snow, I find a box with my father's hunting jacket, our plant book, my parents' wedding photo, the spile Haymitch sent it, and the locket Peeta gave me in the clock arena. The two bows and a sheath of arrow Gale rescued on the night of the firebombing lie on the desk. I put on the hunting jacket and leave the rest of the stuff untouched."

There had been mentions of the pearl in the previous chapters, so should there not be at least a mention of the pearl here on this part where the spile and the locket come up? After all it played a significant part itself in restoring some hope in Katniss at times when she missed Peeta so dearly? I wana know what happened to the pearl!!!!

OMG yes! i always wanted to know for sure what happened to it, although i think she just lost it in battle.

I think it is in the locket Peeta gave her.

how does the pearl fit in the locket? arent lockets supposed to be as small if not just a tiny bit bigger than pearls? also, if it was indeed in the locket the pearl still warrants a mention in the book. since like i said it kinda sorta played a significant part as well, small as it was.. :cry:

is there any way we could find the answer to this? like asking Suzanne herself? im rather desperate, you guys.. like seriously :cry:

I really don't think there is a way to find the pearl it will just be lost between the pages of the Mockingjay.

She put the pearl in her pocket remember? i'd quote it but i dont remember what page it was on... i really think Katniss should of used the pearl to try to get Peeta to remember she was good and not evil because the pearl would bring back memories about how Katniss wanted Peeta to win and how she was going to die for him, but yeah she kept the pearl in her pocket

I was thinking you were talking about the pearl in the beginning of Mockingjay, not the end. Nevermind!
