Head MakeUp Artist Ve Neill talks about The Hunger Games
I would imagine doing the make-up for The Hunger Games movie would be quite the task. Ve Neill is certainly the woman for the job. She’s worked on some of the biggest blockbusters out there, including The Pirates of the Carribean, Thor, The Amazing Spiderman and Batman Forever. She’s now the head makeup artist for The Hunger Games.
HollywoodTheWriteWay had a brief chat with Ve at this year’s Syfy Digital Press Tour.
She says the actors were amazing, that the film sticks to the book and that she thinks The HungerGames is going to take over from Harry Potter and Twilight.
“I think we stuck really closely to the book….I mean…as closely as we could…you know, within reason. There were some things we really couldn’t do and there were some things we felt….y’now, in a book it’s really fabulous–things read really well-but in real life some things don’t […] transform or transfer [from] that realm as well”
“There were certain things we couldn’t do, and possibly in the films to come we may be able to accomplish some other things. But I think everybody’s gonna really enjoy this first film.”
“It’s gonna come off really well. It’s pretty great. The kids were amazing, every single one of them, and they were all so much fun to work with.”
Omg, love that top picture!! Johnny Depp is amazing!! How on Earth could she have made him look THAT good as Captain Jack Sparrow??? Jen and Josh are gonna look FANTASTIC!!!
When I saw the top picture at first I was like, who is that in the movie? Johnny Depp is in it? But then I realized!
