The braid is really a Dutch braid, like an inside out one. You do it the same way except instead of putting the middle piece under, you put it over.

Charlotte, it’s because the girl in the video did a regular french braid. for the movie, they do a “dutch braid” which is an inside-out french braid. this is a much easier version though because dutch braids are difficult to do on your own head.
