‘Hunger Games” Jennifer Lawrence: ‘Catching Fire’ will get ‘real’
Yay! Jennifer Lawrence is finally talking about The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She sat down with 24 Frames for a short and to the point interview about the new Catching Fire as well as her movie ‘Serena’. Jennifer Lawrence– who of course plays Katniss Everdeen in said environment’s “Hunger Games” — thinks the film’s sequel will offer a certain verisimilitude.
“The new movie will be very real, which is what I’m excited about,” she told 24 Frames of “Catching Fire,” which Francis Lawrence will direct. “I really like his take, which is a lot of what I liked in Gary Ross,” she added. “It’s the realistic grasp of the story instead of all the details of the imaginary things.”
Lawrence said she’s met with the director and believes that, overall, he’s trying to continue what Ross started with his adaptation of the first book in the Suzanne Collins’ series. “He’s not trying to reinvent anything,” she said.
The actress begins shooting “Catching Fire” in the fall, with the movie set for a November 2013 release. In the meantime, the Oscar nominee will be seen as the object of other men’s affections.
We are getting beyond excited for this film already and it hasn’t even finished casting yet. (Hurry!! We are dying here!)

Just imagine the joy we’ll feel when the first Catching Fire set pictures turn up. The first still, the first teaser, the first trailer, the first TV Spot—but now we’re still waiting for the first casting! I can’t wait to see that Jennifer has dyed her hair once again for Katniss. I cannot wait to see the Everdeen house in the Victor’s Village. This is perfect.
I’m really glad to hear that they’re following with the realistic grasp of the story. I think so many directors give in too much to the fantasy stuff, or the action, or trying to put their own idea across and forget that they’re trying to bring the essence of the book to life. I’m excited to see what Francis Lawrence is going to come up with and I’m really excited to see Jen as Katniss again.

Many people think it will be like the hunger games but it won’t. It’s gonna be so different because it’s a new arena and new people. Read the book if you haven’t yet.
