Hunger Games Song ‘Safe and Sound’ Hits #1
It was like an early Christmas gift – Taylor Swift letting fans know via Twitter, that her new song Safe and Sound was recorded for The Hunger Games soundtrack (featuring folk duo the Civil Wars).
Straight away the news became a trending topic on Twitter, and now, less than 24 hours later, the song has shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the U.S.

The song is a beautiful, but dark ballad featuring the harmony vocals of Joy Williams and John Paul White. The lyrics speak about the themes of The Hunger Games of struggle and survival

AHHH!!!! I really don’t like Taylor Swift but this song was AMAZING AND PERFECT!!! It was great and could relate to the love triangle and also the games in general. At first when I heard that Swift was on the cd I was upset, but now I have memorized the lyrics.THey should use this song for when Katniss is returning from the Games back to District 12. It would be perfect.
VERY cool! I got a chance to actually listen to it today! Really good stuff! Not the sappy, Taylor Swift stuff that she normally puts out (sorry to any fans. Not trying to offend.) This just shows how quickly the Hunger Games fandom is growing and it will just continue. Really exicting! In less than 24 hours we were all able to get it to number 1!
