Josh and Jennifer: On The Captol and Singing
MTV has another interview with the two Hunger Games stars and in this one Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence discuss the way the Capitol looks and Jennifer’s apprehension of singing Rue’s Lullaby.
“What was cool about the stuff in the Capitol, so much was practical,” Hutcherson added. “The whole apartment scene was all a set they built that was super, incredibly futuristic and amazing, and to see how that is integrated with the whole green-screen world as well is going to be really, really cool.”
“Oh God, oh God. Yeah, I did [sing],” she said when asked about recording “Rue’s Lullaby.” “I’m a terrible singer.”
“T-Bone Burnett, like, the best person to ever happen to music is, like, listening in the other room. I kept getting ready, and then the music would play, and I’d [freak out],” she recalled. “Nothing would come out of my mouth.”
I’m encouraged to hear that a lot of the Capitol is practical – that is not computer graphics. In a time when so many movies look fake because of their overuse of CGI, I’m looking forward to some realistic looking Hunger Games scenery.
I’m sure Lawrence’s voice can’t be as bad as she thinks it is or they would have ended up dubbing someone else’s voice for the song. I guess we’ll hear for ourselves soon enough! At least she isn’t one of those actresses who just assumes that because she’s good in front of a camera she will be good in front of a microphone!
