Would Katniss Everdeen win Gold at the Olympic Games?
Is The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen the best archer in the movie world? That’s the question that Moviefone is posing in a new Movie Olympics Poll.
They’ve put together some of the most popular characters to go head-t0-head in Olympic events with the first one being archery.
While audiences have seen some serious bow-slinging in film this year — Katniss Everdeen, Hawkeye — there are plenty of big-screen shooters from movie history that will be vying for first place.
Here’s who they have put up against Katniss:
Princess Merida from “Brave”
William Wallace from “Braveheart”
Hawkeye from “The Avengers”
Legolas from “The Lord of the Rings”
John Rambo from “Rambo”

While I love Katniss, I have to go with Princess Merida of DunBroch. Merida sent an arrow through an existing arrow to hit the center of the target to prove she should be allowed to vie for her own hand.
It took Katniss three (3) arrows to blow up the pyramid. It took at least two to hit the bullseye of the training center target. She missed the deer in the opening scene when Gale spooked it.
You do have to take into consideration that the pyramid was much farther away than any target Merida had to hit, and in the personal training session, it was her first time shooting this bow, and it was very difficult to adjust to the new weight and feel of the bow (especially since she was so used to shooting a longbow as opposed to a recurve). The gale thing caught her off guard and the deer was running away. In the same scene she shoots and brings down a flying bird. And at the end of the Hunger Games, she shoots an arrow straight into Cato’s hand, and she was so worn and tired and burned and scarred and all of that. Think of how much pressure Katniss was under when she fired every arrow in her quiver. And THAT’S why I voted for District 12′s very own Katniss Everdeen.
well that’s because they animated that> becuz the person who played Merida said they animated it or something> These should be based off of people not animated stuff. Well then again merida is the only one eho is animated. i think
Very very true. Also in the book it mentions that the bow in the training centre is more rigid and harder to pull back which means it also had a greater draw weight. Go Katniss!
I agree with KJ. You do have to take into consideration that Merida can hit the center of the target even if she was riding on her horse.
Well that is in the Movie KJ. In te book she can shoot a bird in mid air right through the eye. But there would be people watching so it may mess her up lol.

Of course Katniss would win! She’s actually a real person. (in the movie played by a real person.) Merida is animated.

OMG that new show that airs in the fall is called Revolution and I’m going to watch it! But I think that they are trying to do something similar to The Hunger Games
I have to say hawk eye from the avengers because he could shoot an arrow behind him without even looking and get his target.
