Lenny Kravitz on playing Cinna in The Hunger Games movie
Rolling Stone has caught up with Lenny Kravitz to ask him about his upcoming role as Cinna in The Hunger Games movie.
Lenny says after director Gary Ross got in touch with him to talk about the role, he tore through The Hunger Games … and right now is working his way through Catching Fire, the second book in the trilogy.
“I’m really excited to be playing Cinna,” he says. “Reading the book, I’m seeing everything – the Capitol, the arena, all this stuff. This world is going to be incredible.”
This will Lenny’s second feature film after he gained wide praise for his supporting role in the 2009 movie, Precious. However as Rolling Stone points out, ating is something of a family tradition for the Kravitz’s .. His late mother, Roxie Roker starred in The Jeffersons, and his daughter Zoë Kravitz, is in X-Men: First Class.

Well I am not hapy about him playing Cinna. He looks nothing like how Cinna looks in the book
Cinna is white, with light brown hair and Green eyes (?) and wear’s gold eyeliner while this guy looks more of a rapper with silly sunglasses! BOOO I call a re-cast

Casting a movie if more of the way the person acts. Not so much on how the person resembles the character. Looks can always be fixed with make up, wigs, and computers. Although I have not seen Precious, I am sure he will be great. We should all keep our hopes up that this movie will be just as good as the books.
And bye the way, you just proved my point in your previous comment. In the book, Cinna has light brown hair, green eyes, and wears gold eye liner. He does have brown hair, he can wear colored contacts, (Just like Peeta and Katniss) and eye liner is makeup so i am sure they will put some on him.
This movie will be great. I have high expectations.
Lenny Kravitz was not on my list of choices for cinna but I have nothing against him- he just doesn’t seem right to play Cinna
honestly I hope they really revise their work with the whole movie this is moving quite fast and I do not want them to mess up hugely though it is very likely at last several fans will hate the movie but I dunno.
Though he doesn’t match my personal mind image we have color contacts (unless there are allergies) and hair dye though some hair dye color conversions are very hard to do but not here

really I get makeup but to change him to how I pictured Cinna well they won’t do that becuase we will have another tin man there would just be too many alterations
