Locations of First Districts Released | Official Map of Panem
We’ve done it! Over a week ago, The Hunger Games Adventures released a community quest to find District Seals scattered about the game. Once enough seals had been found, they would release the first locations on the official map of Panem. We now have the official locations for the Capitol along with Districts 2, 11 and 12. Take a look!
While I was under the impression we would be getting a full-fledged map of Panem, it is exciting to have even these few locations given to us.
What do you think? Are the Districts where you thought they would be?
i didn’t think the districts would look like that at all i thought they would be like district 1 and two would be touching and 2 and 3 and so on and i thought they would be in something like straight lines some bigger than the others, WOW!!!
Thats what i thought also and the capital would be before district 1. But i give them props for originality.

Very cool and pretty close to where I thought/imagined the Districts would be.
I think that the one farthest south underneath D2 will be D4… just a guess.

Personally I think it’s wrong:
- District 11 is too close to 12 and is WAY too small. Katniss says it’s massive and by the look of it it seems to be one of the smallest.
- District 12 doesn’t have a coast line. I imagined district 4 to be were they’ve put 12…
Why does it matter that District 11 is too close to District 12? And even though District 11 looks small doesn’t mean it is small. Katniss never really talked about how big or small the other Districts were. And why does it matter that District 12 has a coast line? They probably just don’t live next to it. They all probably live in the middle or on the west side of District 12.
That isn’t a coast line its land right of District 12 but it’s blurred because Panem doesnt own that land…genius.
No its a coastline. If you read the book, Panem used to be called North America. But Fires, war, famine, natural disasters, and enroaching seas took their toll. ENROACHING SEAS……that means that water levels went up dramastically and that coastlines from the old North America were flooded. If you look at the map, you can clearly see parts of America that used to be there but are now underwater; like Florida.
Oh and it’s not blurred. The colors just represent ocean levels. The lighter blue color means it’s shallower in that area, while the darkest blue represents it’s really deep.
If its the coastline then where is Florida?
Are you just making all this up off the too of your head? I don’t recall that being in the book or any interviews.

Didn’t you read the book.It said Katniss lived in what was once known as Appalachia-Appalachian Mountains. Hello! They are right were District 12 is on the map! Pay Attention!
i thought 12 was supposed to be the furthest out and i agree, 11 is supposed to be HUGE. and 4 a big streach around panem.
I’m sure D4 is Mexico.
i kinda thoought that the districts would be in a circle and the capitol is in between district one and twelve but it would be a least a thousand miles apart from twelve
I knew district 11 would be down south… It makes sense. And I know that distinct 12 would be there! I LIVE IN DISTRICT 12!

i agree with wear two and the capital are but 11 is to small its nearly the same size as twelve and twelve is tiny compared to eleven in the book

I think I live in a frayed out area dividing the districts, I’m in north Texas. Can’t wait to see which district that is though
I apparently am underwater though District 11 is right above where I live.
I was expecting district 4 to be Florida and places around there…but FL is clearly underwater in the map

District 4 has already been revealed its one of the top north-western areas….
Im thinking that District 4 SHOULD be around the Southern Californian/Mexican coastline… and It was quite obvious that D12 is in the appalachians. I thought the Capitol would be just on the border of Canada but when i think about, it says the Capitol is surrounded by the districts. And why do all the districts border each other? I was thinking more along the lines of being spaced out, because in Catching Fire, Bonnie and Twill escaped from whatever district it was. There would be gaps in Panem, like, in between the districts?? And who said this map is official, right?
The author of hunger games said this is the official map and the books say the capital is in the rockie mountains in what used to be Colorado.
See, the things is, if the USA and Canada collapsed due to Global Warming, not only would there have been droughts, floods, wildfires, etc…but depending on how bad the warming was before everything fell apart (since the warming would stabilize afterwards since not nearly as many people were put carbon emissions in the atmosphere) certain parts of the continent could be simply to hot to live in. So everything should be shifted northwards a bit where it would be more habitable.
I thought district 12 would be beside the capitol.
