Mia Wasikowska definitely NOT playing Johanna Mason in Catching Fire

The rumor going around last week was that Mia Wasikowska was going for the role of Johanna Mason in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  Apparently though, it’s not happening.

Entertainment Weekly has been able to confirm via her reps, that Mia has not only NOT been approached for the role, but even if she had been , she would not be able to take part with her other film commitments for the rest of this year.

Model/actress Zoe Aggeliki was also mentioned as a potential candidate for the role of Johanna, but as you’d expect there’s still no word from Lionsgate.

  2. Peeta rocks says:

Aww I thought she might end up being annie

  3. Gatsby says:

Brittany Daniel. She would be good… maybe. She was a horrible person in White Chicks, and a really nice one in Joe Dirt. Johanna Mason was mostly horrible, but she had her moments. Brittany Daniel I think would be good.

  4. Gatsby says:

    Kat Dennings should play Annie!!

  5. Sushi says:

NOOOOOO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MIA!!!!! You were perfect…. :( ;(

  6. R* says:

To be honest, I’m glad Mia doesn’t play Johanna in Cathing Fire. She looks just too sweet.

    • Angelina says:

Somebody else agrees I also didn’t think Johanna would be a Blonde I thought of her a a Dark Brunette…

      • Primrose_everdeen :) says:

In the book it says johanna was a dark brunette.. mia just looks to innocent to be johanna any way

I’m pleased with this—she’s totally wrong for both Johanna and Annie. I imagined Johanna as having short hair that was spiked at the ends, with a little bit of bangs. Dark brown hair, flashing green eyes, and rough-looking. But can be “prettied up” for Capitol audiences, of course.

Annie I imagined long dark hair, that was kind of wavy. With Finnick-color eyes. Mia looks too sweet and young for the part, and I highly doubt she’d consider shaving her head for Mockingjay.

    • Ambra says:

She “looking sweet” does not matter. Their are actors out there that can just become whomever they want. No matter role they play! I rwally dont care about what who they cast! Its acting that matters.

      • RebeccaB. says:

You’re right, *some* actors can do that, but not all. It wouldn’t be believable for her to be Johanna. Besides, Johanna is sort of mean-spirited, and after seeing her in Alice in Wonderland, I highly doubt she could pass for a rough, hard-talking, murderous, rebellious tribute. The looks matter almost as much as the acting.

So, yeah, “looking sweet” matters in terms of what character you’re attempting to play. Did I say I really, *really* cared about who they cast? No, I didn’t. I have ideas who they could/should cast, but they does not mean they will. Oh, and quit acting like my comment was a personal offense to you!

  8. Kari says:

Did she work with Josh Hutcherson before?

  9. THGirl says:

GOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!! she wouldn’t have gone well with the hunger games, johanna is too be bad ass for her to play

  10. Jillybean says:

    oh

  11. The Girl On Fire says:

She could be Johanna even tho Johanna hates Katniss in the begging she turns out to be good x)
