Movies.com | Predicting the Mystery Character in ‘Catching Fire’
Movies.com had the fandom weigh in on another Hunger Games Countdown topic. This time, on who the mystery character is on the ‘Catching Fire Casting‘ site! Here is an excerpt of what the fan sites had to say:

I’d like to think that the mystery person is Alma Coin. While we don’t meet her until Mockingjay, it would make for an interesting cliffhanger to see the woman that is essentially the lynch pin to the future of Panem make an appearance. The film could end with Coin playing a crucial role in the rescue of Katniss from the Arena. As those that have read Mockingjay know, Coin presents an ever-present danger to Katniss. She is more than willing to let Katniss die once she’s fulfilled her duties as the mockingjay. An actress that could capture the very ruthlessness and duplicity of Coin would be someone like Sigourney Weaver. She manages to play women with great presence and tenacity.Lindsay of HG Girl On Fire
There has been a lot of frenzied talk among fans and fan sites about who this mystery character might be, but I hadn’t devoted a whole lot of time to it myself. As casting news has trickled out, I have just been enjoying the excitement of putting actors with characters we know will be making an appearance in Catching Fire. However, after giving it some thought, I wonder if we might get an appearance at the end of the film from Coin. Introducing the leader of District 13 would be an excellent way to point the way to the third film in the series, Mockingjay, Part 1. As for casting, I can’t help but think of Joan Allen for the role. She certainly has the capability of showing strength, leadership and control (consider the Bourne franchise). From what I’ve seen online, everyone seems to think the Mystery Woman is either Annie Cresta, Madge Undersee, or Alma Coin. And these are all great guesses, as I think each of these characters would elicit an excited response from fans. Imagine how cool it would be for Catching Fire to end with a quick glimpse of Coin looking all authoritative in her District 13 bunker! I’d also love to see Madge re-incorporated into the pin storyline (and I do think it’s possible). All that being said, however, my money’s on Annie. Annie is a pretty important figure in Mockingjay, so it would make sense for them to go ahead and introduce her in Catching Fire, even though we only get a brief glimpse of her in the book.

What I’m confused
Coin would be cool in CF
I think it would be cool if they kind of mirrored the ending to Hunger Games (snow in the control room)
instead having Coin in some kind of control room in District 13 watching over the rescue
I think is is either madge or annie
I’m thinking Twill, Gale’s mother, or maybe Annie. I don’t really think they would go big on anouncing Coin if she was to be in the movie. That would be a pretty big and cool twist if they just showed her out of nowhere without expecting it, but anything could happen.
I’m still wondering when they’re going to cast Thread, Beetee, Blight, the rest of the tributes . . .
But I think it could be Annie—but since her role isn’t big (enough) in Catching Fire, and since people are keen on thinking Coin will be in the movie, it must be Coin. And it is a female’s spot. But it would be cool to see the way it was done with Snow: have Coin come on the screen in some way. Either way, I hope Lionsgate does some more casting soon. They’ll be filming soon, won’t they?
They probably already have most of the roles casted and just havn’t anounced it yet. They will be filming in Atlanta soon if not already.
I’m hoping its Madge or maybe even Annie or Gale’s family.

I’m thinking Annie. Since she is someone that is seen for a few seconds yes, but we hear her screams in the Jabberjay scene so I would think they would hire her so that they have her ready to go. Or I also think its possible for Coin to see her at the end of Catching fire to get ready for Mockingjay

Annie or Hazelle. I was really hoping Twill would be in there, but I’m not sure if she’ll be kept in. And Bonnie.
There are some great suggestions for the other roles on imdb lists. I wonder if any of these ones will be cast. Two of them had Sam Claflin up way before he was cast- so maybe a few more choices will be hits. These are my faves.

I hope it’s Annie. We already have our Finnick so I think they should bring Annie into the story. She’s also one of my favorite characters.

I can just picture Katniss talking to Gale.
Gale: Katniss…there is no district 12.
Katniss: what?!
Outside the room we see a womans heels entering Katniss’s room. We see her face when she enters.
C: Katniss Everdeen. Alma Coin. President Alma Coin.

SOMEWHAT A SPOILER:
I think they might add Madge considering how she somewhat saves Gale’s life in CF because she brings the pain killers after Gale gits beaten by the new peacekeepers.
I also agree with everyone else on it possibly being Coin. Like showing her at the end of the movie, controlling D13.
Oh, and I also think it might be Annie Cresta. It might show her Katniss watching the reaping tapes and her seeing Annie Cresta.
I imagined Alma Coin as Jamie Lynch.
