MTV’s Catching Fire Sountrack Wishlist
Hot on the heels of We The Kings putting it out on Twitter that they’re working on a track for the Catching Fire soundtrack, MTV has decided to put together a wish list of artists they would like to see on The Hunger Games sequel album.
They came up with five picks….Here they are:
Florence + The Machine
The English songstress has such a powerful pair of pipes, and her ethereal ballads lend an air of epic-ness to everything they touch.Mumford & Sons
The franchise’s first soundtrack leaned heavily on country influences, what with the inclusion of Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and the Secret Sisters. If the film’s music supervisor decides to stick with a similar theme, the rock group’s folk sensibility would be at safe and sound here.Blake Shelton
Again with the country. Blake Shelton’s wife Miranda Lambert and his “The Voice” co-judge Adam Levine (of Maroon 5) both appeared on “The Hunger Games” soundtrack, so he’ll have two artists to ask for tips and advice. Not that he needs to. But still.Alicia Keys
Guys, her new single is titled ”Girl on Fire.” It doesn’t get more fitting than that.Taylor Swift…Again
Because she can do no wrong.

I’ll always say it: The soundtrack WON’T be right without those 3:
Coldplay will be the best to express the rebellion (Ex. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Hurts Like Heaven & A Rush Of Blood To The Head).
Paramore plays on both the rebellion (Ex. Let The Flames Begin) and Katniss and Peeta’s relationship (Ex. Monster).
Linkin’ Park will be the best to describe Katniss’ fiery side (Ex. Burning In The Skies & The Catalyst).
Then again, I like Florence + The Machine, Taylor Swift and Maroon 5.
I agree
agreed
i think that the song ‘welcome to the black parade’ by my chemical romance would be good for the soundtrack
thats perfect
I agree, those are really fitting, but you need to add Uprising by Muse that song is perfect for CF
Cocoon by Jack Johnson is a perfect fit for Katniss and Peeta or even Katniss and Gale
The Head and the heart,Lumineers, Barcelona, the civil wars,
Set Fire to the Rain by Adele, Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine, and Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance always reminds me of The Hunger Games, specfically Mockingjay.
I hope Maroon 5 and Arcade Fire can be on the Catching Fire soundtrack—Come Away to the Water and Abraham’s Daughter were amazing. Also Take the Heartland and The Ruler and the Killer.
I think Dog Days Are Over really describes the Cornucopia scenes in the first two books, and in the Capitol at the end for Mockingjay.
One song that MUST be in the soundtrack is Muse- “Uprising”. If you haven’t heard you really need to listen to it.
I AGREE
Finally, someone who sees how good Uprising would be! It’s the only song I associate with HG! It’s just so perfect for Catching Fire! I’m glad it’s not just me who sees it!
Paper Route need to be on this! Go give a listen to ‘You & I’ off their new album ‘Peace of The Wild Things’ it’s perfect for CF! x
I’d love to hear Taylor Swift, Angus and Julia Stone, Of Monsters Of Men, You Me At Six, Paramore, The Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Imagination Dragons on the soundtrack
i agree with paramore, linkin park, foo fighters, of monsters and men and imagine dragons… i <3 florence + the machine and i also think that Uprising by Muse would be a good song choice
Florence and the machine r really good they did a song for snow white and the hunts men. it’s called breath of a life or something.
I loveeeeeeeee Blake shelton
Another one should Linkin Park- Numb.
I think Rue’s lullaby should be on it since they didn’t put it in the first sound track and if they have it they should put Jennifer Lawrence singing the whole thing, obviously not just when she sang the little part in the movie.
ALICIA KEYS “GIRL ON FIRE” IS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!! The have to have Swift! Florence and the Machine are perfect to!
maybe The Used – I Come Alive for the trailer
People like us -Kelly Clarkson. Rally song For most of the districts
Maroon 5′s “Wipe Your Eyes” playing in the last scene of Katniss and Cinna..
