My Hunger Games Fan of the Week – Anya
Our Hunger Games Fan of the Week is Anya. She’s 10 years old and lives in the UK – in Wales to be exact.
Here’s a bit more about Anya and why she loves The Hunger Games so much.
What is it about The Hunger Games you love so much?
It’s got to be the fighting in the arena, because it’s just so action packed and exited, and it makes me wonder what is going to happen next. Also I love that Katniss is the mockingjay and is the sign of rebellion, and that makes me think that maybe she could be running every district or something. I also love the stylist part when Katniss thinks the stylist is going to make her naked and put coal dust on her. Well, I really just love everything in the book/movie, and It was hard to say what I loved the best. But in the movie I love it when Katniss was so upset that she kissed her three fingers and put them up in the air, it was like she was in charge of the rebellion and it was a sign to tell the districts to overcome the capitol.
Who is your favourite character in The Hunger Games?
It’s got to be Finnick, he is so fun. It because I mostly like the part when he put the sugar cube in Katniss’s mouth and Katniss had no idea at all who he was. It’s also very unique how he won the Hunger Games. It’s very sad though that Mags spared her life for him, Katniss and Peeta.
What did you like/not like about The Hunger Games movie?
Well, as I said before, I liked the bit when Katniss was so upset that Rue died that she kissed her three fingers and put them in the air, then there was a rebellion against the capitol. I did not like the bloodbath part, because it went a little too fast for me to focus.
What is your favourite quote?
Of course it’s got to be “Happy hunger games and may the odds be in your favour.”
But I also have other favourite quotes too
“May the 74th hunger games begin!”
“Katniss, there is no district 12.”
“If we burn you burn with us.”
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Yes. I just wanted to say that I read the books for hours a day and all my friends and family are fed up of me reading The Hunger Games because I talk about it so much! And before I went to watch the movie I begged to go to the cinema to watch it, and guess what? I did

wow just like me. i will read one of the 3 hours a day and when im done with the book i just flip back to the front and start reading it again. my friends and family [mostly my friends] are soooooooo tierd of it the say ‘ aubrey will u shutup we know for the millionth time’ then i just start cracking up because of the look on their faces. their so funny and i say ‘why ‘. then they say ’cause its bad for ur health now stop and lets talk about hary poter and ill like u can but im going to just keep bringing up the thg. i always win.
Me too! Only thing is my favorite character is rue and my favorite quotes are “May the odds be ever in your favor”, “If we burn, you burn with us” and “Don’t expect us too be too impressed. We just saw Finnick in his underwear”:)
