BRUNO GUNN CAST AS BRUTUS IN LIONSGATE’S THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE
Santa Monica, CA, August 8, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Bruno Gunn has been cast in the role of Brutus in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. Brutus is a former Career victor from District 2.
Gunn has co-starred in a variety of films, most recently the comedy hit Bad Teacher, and is recognizable to TV audiences from frequent guest starring roles including on “The Office”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Sons Of Anarchy,” “Oz,” and “Prison Break.”

imagine he to be in hes late 30z mid 40z …with hair and a more muscular body (since Brutus is from distract 2) …but im ok with the him

He looks great. It doesn’t matter who we had in mind—at the end of the day, Lionsgate/Francis Lawrence will decide who earned the part. Congrats, Bruno! Bruno is Brutus . . . catchy.
Well, he sure looks like he could pound the daylights out of you, I’ll say that for him. Not familiar with his roles. Hopefully he can act b/c he has some high caliber talent along for the ride with him.
Rest assured, I doubt they would’ve casted him if he couldn’t act.
Actually, assuming they stick to the book, he only has two lines…just as Enobaria only has two lines. They speak at the presentation where they all hold hands, and when Katniss is lying unconcious on the jungle floor and they are chasing Johanna. These are really physical roles.
acting isant anything to do with how many lines you have! the physical part is the most espresive and is more important than the voice!
Once he builds some more muscle he should be fine.

This actor has made his career being the muscle in the background…the prison yard guy lifting weights, the body guards for the mob, etc. I’m betting his biceps are in the 26″ to 32″ range.
I’m really shocked with the people lining up for basically only physical roles, minimal if any speaking.
Yeah you’re right that the roles that they’re casting for the characters like Brutus are mainly physical roles. But nevertheless, they still have to deliver whatever they’re told to do, which speaking or not, is still acting. But trusting in Suzanne Collins, Francis Lawrence, and anyone else involved in casting, I think they’ve made good choices, and will continue to do so. c:
Not exactly what i had in mind, kind of pictured Robert Downy Jr for some reason. But hey, i’m up for anything-if he’s a good actor i’m sure he’ll be perfect
