Rumor: Catching Fire Will Be Filmed in Kauai!
According to PerezHilton The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be filmed in beautiful Kauai, Hawaii!
According to the site sources have chosen the island for the arena of the Quarter Quell in Catching Fire. Filming on the island will apparently be shot over the last three weeks of filming sometime in the fall.
All of this is speculation of course and as soon as news becomes official we will make sure to let everyone know.
What do you think about the filming location? Is it how you imagined the arena looking?

These are some beautiful shots. Wish I were going. But I honestly think this is just the rough arena, first draft if you will, and this will look very different after the special affects are added. It will certainly work. Building from scratch would be extremely costly.
To me it’s just right! But in my head it was in the middle of the sea and a sandy beach and a jungle with a lot of vines . did anyone think that when they read it????
Yeah, I think there could be more sand….then a jungle. But I’m sure they’ll pick the perfect place to film it.

If they do film here it will be perfect. This is a lovely area and will work wonderfully for the movie.
I am going on vacation there when they should be filming! I can’t wait! BUT, they need it to be more tropical. Like in the first movie of Madagascar where they end up on that island! I know that sounds retarded but picture it without the animation and (preganant) Katniss and her star crossed lover Peeta!

Hawaii would be great! Dont get me wrong.But if they filmes it in the North Queensland, Australia, it would be way more tropical, its beautiful, vast and colourful, the rainforests are full of life! The Ideal place he the arena! Plus it’ll be our Summer (U.S.A’s Winter) so its even better!!!

That looks just perfect, it just needs a bit more sand and forest but the layout of land then river or ocean (Not sure which it is) then more land is exactly how I imagined it when reading! That is incredible!
i live on Kauai and we have EVERYTHING here, unbelievable beaches, jungles, canyons, and even forests. It is paradise on earth and Hawaii without the people.
