Taylor Kitsch Rules out playing Finnick Odair in Catching Fire AGAIN
This has been one of the most confusing rumors – just who will play Finnick Odair in Catching Fire. Apparently casting for the movie is officially underway. I guess there’s no surprise there, as we heard the other day that the role of Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee was officially offered to actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
BUT the other rumor that gained some traction yesterday was that the role of of Finnick Odair had been filled – by Taylor Kitsch.
What was most perplexing about that rumor was that Kitsch himself had earlier dismissed that he was going to take part in Catching Fire.
Well, it seems he’s stuck to that position and reconfirmed that he WON’T be taking part in Catching Fire.
According to Celebuzz :
Although Taylor Kitsch confirmed earlier this week that he would not be playing Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, the Savages actor continued to shoot down rumors revealing that he’s no longer in the running for any roles in the upcoming film.
During a press conference, Kitsch told reporters including Celebuzz that he was “definitely out” and wouldn’t be joining Jennifer Lawrence for the upcoming sequel to The Hunger Games.
So – hopefully that’s it! Two confirmations from Taylor Kitsch himself, that he will NOT be Finnick Odair. We can only hope that we will hear some official casting news real soon.

It’s obvious the guy just doesn’t want to be in – so we need to stop asking him, or his “people”, if he’s in the running for Finnick or not. Taylor Kitsch himself has confirmed *twice* now that he won’t be in Catching Fire, fans need to take a hint and leave him alone, so it’s in our best interest to just leave it at that.
