We’re halfway through the year and Movifone has decided to take stock of the movies that have been released over the last six months.

In terms of the box-0ffice, 2012 has been huge so far, with The Hunger Games blowing everyone out of the water, until along came The Avengers.  As they point out, it could get even bigger with ”The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Hobbit” yet to be released

Moviefone has decided to list what they see as the best movies of 2012 so far with The Hunger Games coming in at number 5.

5.  Why We Love It: Despite ridiculously high expectations, “The Hunger Games” managed to live up to the hype, by balancing ass-kicking action
Their top 10 picks (out of a list of 26) are:
1. The Avengers
2. The Cabin in the Woods
3. Moonrise Kingdom
4. Prometheus
5. The Hunger Games
6. Brave
7. Chronicle
8. 21 Jump Street
9. Beasts of the Southern Wild
10. Magic Mike
So what do you think?  Where would you place The Hunger Games in a list of the best movies of 2012 so far?  Let us know in the comments below.
