The Mockingjay Flies?
Anticiaption has been building ever since we read the last page of Catching Fire for the release of Mockingjay. Book three of The Hunger Games series has been a closely guarded secret. Scholastic did not distribute advance copies and in keeping with the August 24 embargo, media outlets haven’t received the book in advance either.
So how is that with two weeks to go some copies have been spotted?
@sims posted this picture of the book on Twitter saying ….” Thanks to a very kind friend, I’m about to start Mockingjay. Join me on my red eye flight to read along”.
Gotta say I’m super jealous!
UPDATE: Hunger Games Examiner contacted Scholastic to find out what’s going on. It seems the people at Scholastic have no idea how Andrew Sims got his hands on a copy.
Sheila Marie Everett, a publicist at Scholastic told the Examiner:
“We are not releasing copies in advance of 8/24/10. Scholastic did not provide this person with a copy of Mockingjay. In fact, I haven’t even read it yet!”
The Examiner also checked in with Sims who said:
”I don’t really have any comment and honestly I’m just hoping for it to pass. I didn’t expect it to get such a reaction!”

If it’s real, then I’m super jealous too. However, I have to say that I’m a little bit skeptical. We’ll have to wait to see if the unjacketed hardcover looks like the picture above, but if not, it’s quite possible that they just used Photoshop to doctor the image.
I’m pretty sure it’s legit. Andrew Sims wouldn’t just do that. I think he really has the book. I am jealous of him!! But I still love him <3
Andrew wouldn’t make it up, he is legit. He’s background with Mugglenet and Twilight Source prove that. Wonder who is friend is though, lucky duck! If I were him I wouldn’t have posted that picture though, I can imagine Scholastic’s been on the hunt for him for advertising it! LOl!
Yep, Andrew Sims is trustworthy. The book is def. not a fake.
Maybe it’s an ARC? They gave out ARCs for Catching Fire, there was a contest…
As someone on our facebook page pointed out – the bookshops already have the book in the store ready for August 24…they are supposed to be kept sealed until the release date, but as in all parts of life, there are some that just can’t help themselves and it would seem someone’s opened up the box and leaked some of the books.
While I can’t wait…I know it will be exciting going into the shop and picking up my very own copy that I pay for.
Hmmm…Im not sure how it happened, but I had requested “Mockingjay” from my public library and it came two days ago. I finished it today. AMAZING! Its just funny because I come from a small farm town. I dont know how they possibly got their hands on an advanced copy!

the books are so amazing, by far the best books i’ve ever read in my life
