The Panem Companion – A close look at the world created by Suzanne Collins
The people who brought you The Girl Who Was on Fire, will be publishing another Hunger Games-related book. This time it’s a detailed analysis of the future nation created by Suzanne Collins.
The Panem Companion: An Unofficial Guide to Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games by V. Arrow will be released in December of next year.
V. Arrow may be known to those in the fandom as the creator of this really impressive unofficial map of Panem.
Of the release of the new book next year, Smart Pop says:
We’re so excited about this book, from the updated (and gorgeously illustrated) version of that original map, to the in-depth lexicon, to the explorations of the districts’ socioeconomics, family life, sexuality, ethnicity, and more. I love V.’s mix of passion and academic-worthy insight—not to mention her appreciation for Hunger Games fans and fandom.
Smart Pop will also be releasing a special movie edition of The Girl Who Was on Fire in January. It will include three new essays from Diana Peterfreund, Brent Hartinger, and Jackson Pearce. A sneak peek of The Panem Companion will be included in the back of the book.
If you haven’t got your copy of The Girl Who Was on Fire yet, you can order it here or you can pre-order the movie edition, due out in January here
