Toby Jones on the difference between The Hunger Games and Catching Fire

Digital Spy was able to catch up with Toby Jones, who plays Claudius Templesmith in The Hunger Games while at the Evening Standard Film Awards where he took home the ‘Best Actor’ award for Berberian Sound Studio .

They managed to ask him a little about Catching Fire.

Toby explains:

“They want to vary it from the first, but they obviously don’t want to make a complete departure from it,” Jones said, and went on to explain that the second film’s story is more weighted in favour of the games themselves.

“They’ve got a very different way of dramatising the games in this one”.

So what do you think? Does that make you want to see it even more?  Let us know in the comments below.

I’m excited for any change in this movie– the last one was fantastic, but I think with a different take it will appeal more to people who haven’t read the books.

In other words, Gary Ross made an amazing adaptation of the book, but I think what would be even cooler is if Catching Fire was both accurate AND a great stand-alone movie from a non-fan perspective.
