VIDEO: Hunter Parrish on Finnick Odair Casting

Hunter Parrish missed out on the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games, and while he loves that there’s a bunch of fans that would love to see him play Finnick Odair in the sequel, Catching Fire, he feels a bit cautious this time around.
Hunter spoke to MTV about auditioning for Peeta and and the Finnick Odair casting:
“This whole ‘Hunger Games’ thing, man … I’ve read all of the books, because I’ve been through this once before,” Parrish said. “It was very exciting for me [to be considered] for the first movie, to be a part of that, and I read all of the books at that time, and I loved the script and the director and Jennifer Lawrence who was cast at that point. I saw it as something very exciting, and I was very excited about it, but it wasn’t [meant to be]. Josh is also a friend of mine, and I haven’t seen the film yet, but people say amazing things about it, and he’s great, he’s perfect. We’ve worked together before, and he’s a great actor,” Parrish said sincerely.
While Parrish is grateful for the fan support behind the Finnick campaign, his experience from the first round of casting has him feeling more cautious about things this time around.
“I kind of dove in for that one, so for this one, I don’t know,” he said. “I think you just kind of step back, and if it happens, it happens. I’m not going to really spend too much time thinking about it, but I’d love to. I wouldn’t cast myself, but that’s not helping me getting cast for that movie,” he joked. “But I’m a fan of the books. I think there’s fantastic actors that would probably be better. So there’s that for getting me a job!”

He is freaking Finnick!
FINNICK!!!! he kinda seems too young for me, but they will just have to cast a younger annie.
Wow, he looks like Finnick to me! If he can act he is perfect for the part!!
Well, to me it kind of seems that he doesn’t want to be a part of THG anymore, after they already said no. He hums and hews and sounds a bit filled with bitterness. ^^
But overall I wouldn’t feel bad if he played Finnick.
He seems kind of …bitter… just me?

not to sound rude but i dont think he would be a good finnick brcause in the books finnick was compelling and hunters acting is not compelling enough also if he got the part he needs to work on his six pack more because finnick has to have a six pack 10 times large than taylor lautner. and hunter needs to work on his tan

He wouldn’t be the absolute WORST choice, but I definitely cannot see him as Finnick.
Hunter is a great, very versatile actor. He can do anything. He’s been my choice from the start. I really hope they consider him!

He isn’t Finnick. He is gorgeous, as is Finnick, but he needs to have golden skin, bronze hair, green eyes. If the person who plays Finnick isn’t sexy, golden-skinned, bronze-haired with green eyes and looks 24, I will seriously be pissed off…..
