  1. PeetaLuv says:

Which type of method would you use to win the games:

    A) Teaming up with the Careers for a better chance at survivaL

    B) Stakeout after (hopefully) making it through the bloodbath

    C) Go into stealth mode and pick things you need without drawing attention, but making progress by silently making your kill along the way.

    D) Make an ally and hope for the best

    E) Surrender yourself at the Cornucopia since you know you wouldn’t last a full day anyways

  2. Kelsey Moore says:

    This questions relates to Mockingjay:

When prompted by Coin, what motives drove Katniss to vote in favor of renewing the Hunger Games at the end of Mockingjay? And what options did she have to weigh to come to that conclusion?

    • KJ says:

This is a VERY good question. I think, as she looked to Haymitch to see if they were on the same page, that she had puzzled out Snow’s statements prior to getting to the landing. Boggs had set her on that course when he pointed out that Katniss only ‘tolerated’ Coin. As she knew Haymitch was a strategist, to the point of Machiavellian, she was counting on him having figured out that Coin needed to go and that he should have faith in her. The two of them are the deciding votes that put Coin at ease. Think of how it might have ended if they had voted with Peeta? Both of them probably would have been hung and quartered, publicly as traitors.

HOWEVER, having said that, I don’t think she saw the opportunity for action until she had her bow drawn. Katniss gets complete focus and clarity when she draws her bow. She understands the life or death implications of the act. This is shown when she immediately tells the bow, ‘Good Night’, following her actions. Martyrdom through death was more appealing than living with another version of Hunger Games.

  3. SWEETMANDUZZ says:

there were many who died in the hunger games trilogy, but which death do you think was for no reason? For example. I think that Frinnicks death was no reason, because he died not so a GREAT action began. Because when rue died it was indeed a beautiful death, plus she died after all so Katniss and peeta could win. And Prim died so Katniss could kill Coin. But Finnick only dies, so katniss could get by with holos, which could have been done in so many other ways. I do not think he should hat die, but live happily with Annie and their LITTLE child. and whom must now find annie back when she shuts herself down? (apart from the child who is crying).

PLEASE PICK MY QUESTIN!!! :D from SweetManduzz

    • KJ says:

I think Finnick died because it was war. In war, people lose loved ones. We grew to love Finnick and now feel his loss. What you describe as your feelings are really a first of five stages of grieving…denial.

  4. Anton says:

    My questions is:
How will the Hunger Games movie end, with a cliffhanger for the next one, or exactly like the book, or even maybe how the second book begins?

  5. Hannah says:

If you could change the ending to Mockingjay, what would you have happen differently? What would be the cause and effect of your dicisions? If you haven’t read Mockingjay, what would you change about the ending of the other two books?

    Please pick me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. thg is awsumness says:

You wake up one morning to realize it is the day of the reaping. It is your younger siblings’ (your same gender) first year. You promised their name would not be called, but when the time comes their name is called. While they are walking up to the stage you think…should you volunteer or leave them to die?

Think about it, would you do what Katniss did and be known as brave or would you rather live and be hated by everyone around you for letting your sibling go to battle to die?

    • KJ says:

I think the choices are death by tributes in the arena or death by guilt and internal agony by not volunteering. The first would be faster.

  7. thg is awsumness says:

Please pick my question I hope you’ll answer wisely!!!

  8. thg is awsumness says:

(Part 2 of the question of the reaping)

Oh and please give your true answer. Not just what you would put so you would sound great. The real question is… Would you sacrifice yourself so your sibling could live?

  9. Wadle Kinz says:

are there photos of the movie where katniss and peeta kiss

  10. kaeson says:

    My question is:
If you could make up the idea for the next Quarterly Quell, what would it be?
Mine would be something like,”To show that the rebels were almost harmless to the Capitol, this years tributes will not have any weapons in the arena.”
I think that would be a pretty good idea, but lemme know what you think!

    Thanks

    • KJ says:

Hmmmm. Going to require the tributes to kill with their bare hands or whatever they can fashion from the arena. Sounds like nightmare inducing trauma to me.

  11. Judy Cates says:

During each Hunger Games when a Tribute dies the cannon fires. My question is why didn’t the cannon fire when Peeta died? It was a few minutes before Finnick revives Peeta it seems long enough for the cannon to fire. This is something I have wondered about for awhile.

    • KJ says:

Well, there seems to be a lag in the cannon throughout ALL of book 2. The bodies float in the water and then are picked up. Katniss has time to swim to Wiress to get the wire for Beetee. Katniss even checked herself when she told Peeta he HAD died as she was thinking of the Gamemakers pulling his body.

In book 1, there was a lag in the cannon for Rue. How did Katniss have time to collect flowers and arrange them around her? Yes, they picked up Marvel first but still…she didn’t run to the flowers to gather them quickly. She was sad and her movements reflected slower movements.

  12. Jazzmine says:

In the first Quarter Quell the !2 Districts of Panem were forced to choose their own Tributes, who fight to the death. How do you think the Districts chose their Tributes? The children already on death’s door or the one’s that may just have a chance at survival? What was going through the Mayor’s and Citizen’s head through this? What did the Tributes feel?

  13. Jazzmine says:

Opps I meant 12 Districts not !2 Districts!

  14. Katniss....BOOM says:

There are certain deaths in the story that I don’t exactly agree with. For example: Prim and Finnick. Finnick didn’t really have an important death, but he was an extremely important character. Some dude just walks up to katniss and basically says “finnick’s gonna die and there nothing you can do about it…” it just doesnt make sense. And prim how katniss didn’t even get to try to save her sister. And lastly, Boggs. It was so funny when they were all laughing at mitchell for his fail attempt and fake dying. everyone was cracking up and having a good time when BAM!! Boggs legs get blown off. I guess my question is: Why does suzanne collins get you emotionally attached to the characters and then they just die??

    • KJ says:

These books are a reflection of war. REAL war doesn’t have happy endings. The books show what happens in real war. The people who survive do the best that they can to move on and put their lives back together, but suffer from nightmares, flashbacks…they will always be aflicted from the experience. How many buddies in war do you think were walking along, joking, then suddenly hit a land mine and at least one of them had body parts blown off?

It would not reflect the reality of war if all the main characters survived to live happily ever-after. We grieve for Finnick and Prim and Boggs. That is a part of life.

      • KJ says:

Just re-reading MockingJay for the 5th time. Know why Prim was targeted by Coin now. Katniss assumed her family was off-limits and did not put their names on her list of demands. Coin looked for her weakness and found it.

  15. Cindel says:

What happened when Peeta fought off Cato during the TrackerJacker attack? If Cato had wounded Peeta mortally, wouldn’t he just have easily finished him off? Or if somehow Peeta managed to get the upper hand in a hand-to-hand fight, wouldn’t he have just killed Cato (to save Katniss-because Cato was after Katniss) So I guess my question is HOW DID PEETA GET AWAY FROM CATO? WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WHEN PEETA FOUGHT CATO OFF?

    • KJ says:

Well, in the book, Cato/Glimmer attempted to kill the girl from District 8 but the cannon never fired so…Peeta went back to do the deed. As a result, it is not unprecedented for Cato to strike what he thinks is a mortal blow and just walk away, and for the injured to endure until death overtakes them.

  16. Cory says:

What charecters in the book do you relate to, in your opinion, the most?

  17. Patrick C. says:

I am assuming every has heard Taylor Swift’s song called Safe and Sound. As beautiful as the song is; my question for everyone is:

When hearing the song, what scene in the movie do you imagine/picture?

***Do not just say I see the whole movie as a montage because that is what I originally thought.

Thanks! Hope this was a good question.

  18. Patrick C. says:

    Woops!

**** And why? Have detailed answer.

    Cheers!

  19. thg is awsumness says:

Hey I thought u said results were at 12pm if ur talking bout am thts midnight and wat about wat was inside the box u said u were gonna tell us today. -me confused -???

  20. Autumn says:

What song would you choose if you had the choice of which songs go in any of the movies? In my opinion, I think Set Fire to the rain would be good in Catching Fire, but what do you think?

  21. haley knowlton says:

my question is what would you do when you are in the arena? would you be smart like fox face and rue or be like cato and the careers all ready to kill or would you be like petta and risk your life for your district partner?
cant wait to here your answers :D

  22. Danielle says:

Not a lot has been said about the Peacekeepers? They look really intense. Who are the actors playing them in the film?

  23. Danielle says:

Not much has been said about the Peacekeepers. They look really intense. Who are the actors playing them?

  24. Nicole says:

You’ve been in the arena 2 weeks and there are only 2 tributes left. you and youre best friend from your district. You’re in a cave and your left arm has been stabbed. you decide to get it over with, just simply figure out your fate. creeping silently through the arena you stumble upon his/her camp. your best friends camp who you waited for every day to walk to school together, who you told all your secrets, who helped you through tough times, who was just as unlucky as you to be here. What do you do wait for him/her to come back? Just Simply run and let them find you? what?

    • KJ says:

If I had survived to the point you suggest, I would take my own life in a non-agressive way. Just stay in the cave and bleed out or waste away. I would put it on the other person to do the deed…if they found me. Friends don’t kill friends, that is sort of the point of friendship. Even Gale and Katniss could not kill each other when each thought it was time.

  25. KJ says:

    I have several quick questions:

    1. Was the tracking device put into Kat’s right arm in the movie, disabled after she won? If not, why didn’t she consider that as how Snow knew where she was during beginning of Catching Fire. If not, why would they only dig a tracker out of her left arm at end of Catching Fire?
    2. How many people did Peta kill in the books? I can only find two (2) District 8 girl that he went back and finished off to cement his part with the Carears and Brutus at the end of Catching Fire…which we find out about in Mockingjay. Peeta is coming across even more ‘good’ in the movies than in the books as we don’t think he has killed ANYONE yet in the movies. Fought, held his own, negotiated his tagging-along with the careers but no actual kills.
    3. In the movie, didn’t Katness giving the pin to Prim sort of ‘mark’ her? Prim was wearing the pin when she checked in. We knew it was going to be Prim because we read ahead…but the movies aren’t exactly following the books.
Another observation, when Foxface was at the ‘matching’ board, I thought it was a test of speed and agility of thought. Didn’t realize it was the plant education center until it was brought out in this discussion board.
IMO, the movies are going to get to the ending in a different way than the books. End result will be the same but getting there is being changed subtlely.

    • KJ says:

Another BIG point is that Peeta won’t be having an artificial leg in the movies. THAT was pivitol on many occassions in the books. Just goes to my point of the movies going in a different direction, to get to the same ending. I think there will be surprises…just can’t decide if I will LIKE the changes or not.

  26. KJ says:

Will the second and third movies throw off the ‘intro’ mantel and become more dark? More about nightmares and Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome?

  27. KJ says:

In the final chapter of Mockingbird, who would play 40 yr old versions of Katniss and Peeta? I think Nathan Fillion (Castle/Serenity) fits Peeta nicely but can’t come up with anyone for 40 yr old catness.

  28. ashton smith says:

why in the 2 book does gale say katniss there is no district 12?

  29. ashton smith says:

answer quick please it is so suspesful

  30. ashton smith says:

    i mean to say suspensful

  31. peeta lover says:

does gale really kill prim or was it part of the prim and prim was there at the wrong moment

    • KJ says:

Gale does not directly kill Prim per se. What we refer to is the fact that Gale and Beetee were talking about traps that could be built that would ‘follow the Capitol’ playbook. Gale came up with the plan to sucker in the first responders, i.e., medical personnel, then kill the first responders. That is the tactic that got Prim killed. Add to that she was only 14 and wasn’t supposed to be allowed on the front line until she was 16 and that means that Coin had a hand in approving her for the mission.

    • KJ says:

You COULD say that Katniss killed Prim by being human and not adding her name to ‘the list’. Just re-reading MockingJay for the 5th time. Know why Prim was targeted by Coin now. Katniss assumed her family was off-limits and did not put their names on her list of demands. Coin looked for her weakness … and found it.

  32. KJ says:

Here’s my question: How many back stories could be told to give us more?

I think there could be a whole back story of Haymitch and his behind the scenes role in books 1,2,&3 made into a movie. Could even go back and show the Second Quarter Quell and how it made Haymitch the way he is/was. Effie could be intertwined in there, as well. It seemed possible that she was more involved than was let on and how did she get an interest in architecture?

The whole rebel stories going on the districts. How that was networked, what role was played by whom. Could do previously shot scenes from 1, 2, or 3 of Katniss and Peeta but show what is REALLY going on. The power moves and struggles.

The newlywed Evergreens and thier children. What Mom and Dad faced and how it was that Dad was killed in the mine. Was that by chance? Or did that happen on purpose.

How Heavensbee got involved in the rebellion, how messages were passed, how they kept Snow in the dark about what was happening.

The whole Cirrus story in the First Quarter Quell.

I can see at least 2 to 5 more books/movies that could be developed. What say you Ms. Collins?

  33. Jasmine says:

    **Fan Question**
Will Suzanne Collins write a 4th book to The Hunger Games?
