Lionsgate has announced that Wes Bentley will play Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games movie, the game keeper for the 74th Hunger Games.
Bentley has starred in American Beauty. He’s also been in Ghost Rider, Jonah Hex, Soul Survivors, and Beloved. Some of his upcoming projects include After-School Special, Creeper, and Hidden Moon.

Yess! first. I expected seneca crane and other gamemakers to be a fatass and older.

Yeah, I definitely pictured him much older…but I am excited to see how Wes interprets Crane’s character.
Wait a sec… Why do they even need a Seneca crane for us to fret over?? He’s not even close to being a character and the only time he’s doing something is when he’s in the training centre.

Um I think he would play a better Haymitch or Cinna, in my opinion. Seneca crane isn’t there much for the first Hunger Games, and he is dead by the second. You can’t keep him in the background!

Good choice I guess but I think he would be fantastic as cinna and I pictured Seneca to be a bit older but we will see how it turns out, they didn’t hire him for nothing (they hired him because of his ability to play this character:)
@Sarren16 I thought that too at first…why are they making Seneca Crane so high profile? But I figure that the movie must take more of a third person point of view, instead of being through the eyes of Katniss. I guess we get to see what the Gamekeepers are thinking throughout the 74th Hunger Games.

That’s cool but the only time i think we really see him is whenkatniss shouts her arrow at the gamemakers. unless they go out to him during the actual games, he’s really not a part at all. they just kind of mention him
