Why Sam Claflin will make a great Finnick Odair
I remember when some of the casting choices were announced for The Hunger Games – there was a lot of angst from a lot of fans about the choices made for the major characters, and it seems it’s no different with at least one of the major characters for Catching Fire. There’s plenty of fans that aren’t so sure that Sam Claflin is the right actor to play Finnick Odair.
Well E! Online says he’s perfect for the role.
Here’s some of the reasons they say Sam is going to make a great Finnick:
Let’s start with the surface stuff. Claflin’s got green eyes. Really. Not blue. Not gray. Green. Fans came down hard on Jennifer Lawrence for her lack of brown-ness, but maybe they can be happy with Claflin’s eye color; Finnick Odair’s eyes are also green. I’ve seen them. So there.If that isn’t enough, here are some more facts that prety clinch it for the guy:
• Claflin’s childhood clearly prepared him for the bloody Panem arena. “My parents bought me this book called Twisted Tales when I was a kid, which is all the fairy tales turned on their heads,” he told E!’s Marc Malkin. “At the end of Cinderella, the prince finds out she’s not a princess…so he chops her head off.”
• He’s said he spent his teens in “one of the roughest schools there is.” And, in the same way that Finnick has a “self-effacing humor,” according to the books, Claflin is down-to-Earth too. When I interviewed him last year, he modestly explained, “I come from the bottom of the ladder. I’m from Norwich. Not many people seem to know about it. It’s that sticky-outy bit over there. You know, in the east.”

He´s amazing Finnick!
its not that convincing. Hah!
i cant see hm as finnick but im sure when the film comes out he will be great , its just like all the other actors if the movie hadnt come out and you jst had to imagine that josh was peeta or jennifer was katniss it just wouldnt work but when you see it on screen its perfect!!! so im sure he will be great

I think he’ll be great…but not for the reasons in this article, haha. These are all superficial reasons – I’m just concerned about the acting.
I’m still not sure that is he the right actor to play Finnick, but.. we’ll see
Honestly, I couldn’t picture Liam as Gale, but when the movie came out, I was seriously doubting my first impression…. I think I should give him a chance, cause he got the role because he’s a good actor. I really can see him as Finnick because he just seems like a good match:)

I am sorry, this casting is worse than John Wayne playing Ghe ngis Khan, and that is saying something! He isn’t even what I would call above average in attractiveness let alone drop dead gorgeous! Epic Fail!
